About The Team

Murdoch Active offers sport and recreation programs, facilities, and services that promote health and well-being for students, staff, and the wider Murdoch University community. It also supports the University’s teaching, research, and commercial initiatives.

Its goal is to enhance the student experience, foster community engagement, and strengthen connections with the University through inclusive and representative activities.

Programs and services are delivered via the Fitness Centre, Sports and Recreation Hall, indoor/outdoor courts, and external playing fields.

Your New Role!  

The School-Aged Program Coordinator is responsible for designing and delivering sports, recreation, and community programs at Murdoch Active in alignment with its Strategic Plan. These programs aim to enhance student experience, foster community engagement, and support sporting activities. They will primarily be provided to primary and secondary-aged participants during school holidays and after-school hours, offering both general participation and sport-specific coaching and education.

Your key responsibilities will include –

  • Develop and deliver school-aged sport and recreation programs in collaboration with the Sports and Recreation Manager, ensuring safety and inclusivity
  • Lead staff and volunteers through recruitment, training, supervision, and manage financial processes and reporting
  • Promote Murdoch Active and build partnerships through marketing, events, and stakeholder engagement

This Fixed Term (12 Months) | Full Time (37.5 hours per week) attracts a remuneration of $89,396.00 – $96,594.00 (pro rata) plus 17% employer superannuation contributions.

What you’ll bring to the role:

  • Relevant qualifications or extensive equivalent experience in related field
  • Staff supervision experience, including managing direct reports, casual staff, and volunteers
  • Strong stakeholder and customer relationship management skills
  • Proficient in technology with knowledge of sport, recreation, and child supervision practices
  • Sound understanding of safety standards for children’s programs, with excellent communication and flexibility to work varied hours
