Lead field and technical sales for geared motors and gearbox overhaul/repair services. Combine strong technical expertise with commercial focus to deliver practical, cost‑effective solutions. Support the Motion NZ team in achieving and exceeding sales and gross profit targets while maintaining high customer service standards.

What kind of work may be involved?

  • Provide technical and field sales support for Gearmotor products and repair services across OEM and MRO markets.
  • Deliver pre-sales technical guidance and post-sales follow-up to ensure customer satisfaction and solution performance.
  • Support sales teams in identifying new geared motor opportunities and engage Application Engineers/Product Managers when required.
  • Maintain accurate CRM records and collaborate with Sales, Operations, and Workshop teams to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Scope, plan, and coordinate Gearmotor repair, replacement, and installation projects from quotation through to completion.
  • Assess technical specifications, site requirements, and safety considerations to minimise risk and ensure best-practice execution.
  • Create and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) and ensure full traceability of sales and engineering projects.
  • Inspect, assess, and investigate Gearmotor failures, including warranty claims, and provide clear technical recommendations.
  • Prepare detailed repair quotations covering parts, machining, external suppliers, and labour with strong commercial awareness.
  • Deliver onsite technical diagnostics, customer training, and expert support while upholding strict health and safety standards.

Ideal skills & experience:

  • Strong mechanical aptitude with sound knowledge of PT and Geared Motor products and applications.
  • Demonstrated commitment to Health & Safety with a strong safety-first mindset.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Positive, dependable “can-do” attitude with high standards of personal conduct.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think proactively and challenge constructively.
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritise, work methodically, and perform under pressure.
  • Ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, Teams, Outlook, PowerPoint) and business systems including CRM, Power BI, Pronto/Green Tree, and Workday.
