Department Overview
Rakuten Total Solutions, Inc. provides its supports mainly to telecommunication services and its related businesses provided by Rakuten Mobile, Inc. as a BPO. And, we also provide with our supports to other Rakuten group companies as a BPO and is expanding our own business to various companies outside Rakuten group. Legal team is an organization to provide wide range legal related supports, such as legal research/analysis, contract review/negotiation support, dispute resolution. for various business and services of a variety of companies including Rakuten Mobile, Inc. We are working closely to business team and executives and team members can contribute to business by utilizing experiences in both of B2C and B2B area. We appreciate who has strong motivation to work for various types of legal tasks with sense of agility and challenge spirits.

Due to volume increment and recent complexity of legal cases in the background, such as expansion of business field and technological progress such as AI, it is more and more required to provide flexible and reasonable legal support based on expertise relating to contract and business related laws and ordinances. Since reinforcement of legal team resources is deemed important task for company operation in order to ensure both of legal risk mitigation and business development, we welcome candidates, who have experience of inhouse counsel or qualified lawyer, expected to be next generation manager and legal staff who can perform contract review swift and accurate.

Position Details
Legal team provides each department in the company with its legal support, including, contract review, analysis of compliance with law, support for dispute resolution, drafting and revision of terms and conditions, to support ensurance of both of legal risk mitigation and maximization of profit.
Main Contents of Works
- Review of Contract with partners (e.g., outsourcing/service contract, sales/procurement, NDA)
- Support for contract negotiation
- Drafting and revisions of template of contract/Terms and Conditions
- Support for dispute resolutions（B2B, B2C, and including lawsuits）
- Review of Advertising Materials
- Support to establish internal manuals and rules
- Other consultation relating to legal issues
Example of Actual Project
Many project, such as lawsuit arizen out of user complaint, preparation of new templates necessary for new businesses, are on-going.

- Mid-career staffs have mainly been engaged in legal works in manufacturing industry and telecommunication related industry.

- There are staffs successfully moved to other group company or compliance related team after gaining experience in legal team.
Mandatory Qualifications:
- Around 5 years experience as an inhouse counsel
- Around 3 years experience as a qualified lawyer
Any of the above
Desired Qualifications:
- Japanese attorney qualification
- Experience of inhouse counsel in telecommunications/IT industry
- Work experience as an inhouse counsel in personal information and privacy-related matters
- Proficiency in AI and information processing technologies
- Business-level English
