This role plays a crucial part in ensuring our programs remain accessible, responsive and client centred—supporting people from their first point of referral through to residential admission.  

About the role  

As a Victorian Residential Rehabilitation Intake Coordinator, you will be the first point of support for individuals seeking entry into the Salvos’ residential rehabilitation programs across Bendigo Bridge, Bridgehaven and The Basin. This is your opportunity to shape positive outcomes through maintaining waitlists, coordinating bed allocations, and delivering meaningful AOD support to clients waiting to enter treatment. You will help ensure safe, timely, and equitable access to life changing services.  

Reporting to the Team leader the Victorian Residential Rehabilitation Practice Coordinator  is a permanent,  full-time position located in The Basin, Victoria. 

Compensation is in accordance with the SCHADS Award, Level 5.  

How you will make an impact  

In this dynamic and rewarding role, you will:  

  • Manage residential waitlists and coordinate bed allocation across multiple rehabilitation sites.  
  • Review and acknowledge all incoming referrals within required timeframes, ensuring prioritisation and risk considerations are addressed.  
  • Facilitate AOD waitlist support groups, offering evidence based interventions to assist clients while they await admission.  
  • Liaise with external providers and allied health professionals to gather required information and ensure safe, well supported admissions.  
  • Prepare and maintainaccurate case notes, updates and documentation using TSA information systems.  
  • Present applicants at Clinical Assessment Team (CAST) meetings and support progression through the intake process.  
  • Assist clients and families with treatment preparation, aftercare planning and building healthy support networks.  
  • Identify risks, service gaps, and contribute to continuous quality improvement.  

What you will bring  

  • A minimum diploma level qualification in Community Services, Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD) or relevant   
  • field.   
  • Experience working in social services, ideally within AOD or Mental Health settings.  
  • Completion of (or willingness to complete) the AOD Skillset.  
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build collaborative relationships with clients, families and service providers.  
  • Confidence in managing competing priorities, maintainingaccurate records and working autonomously within a supportive team.  
  • A current driver’s licence and Working with Children Check (VIC).
