One Research Technician position is available in the School of Environment and Natural Resources at The Ohio State University. The technician will assist on a comprehensive multi-year study of Gray Fox and/or Coyote ecology and management in Ohio. The technician will be expected to assist with aspects of field and lab work, which include but are not necessarily limited to capture and GPS monitoring of foxes and coyotes and remote monitoring via cameras. The technician also will be expected to interact with the public and help develop outreach strategies. Opportunities will include developing analytical skillsets to assist with analyses of habitat use and selection and survival analyses.
Qualifications
High School diploma or GED and 1 year of relevant experience required. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in live-trapping, telemetry, and remote cameras. Additionally, some experience with GIS or R is desirable, or at least a willingness to learn. This work will involve a mix of noninvasive monitoring and GPS radiotracking techniques. The successful applicant must have the inter-personal skills to be able to work collaboratively with cooperating biologists and graduate students, as well as be able to communicate with landowners.

The pay range for this profile is $15.86 - $20.74/hourly. The offer for this position will fall within this range based on internal equity, unit’s available budget, and the candidate’s qualifications
