The Opportunity:
As the Research Study Coordinator at Washington State University within the Elson S. Floyd College of Medicine, you will plan and manage research projects within the Speech and Hearing Sciences department overseen by Amy Kemp. These projects focus on Alzheimer’s disease and related dementia, including cognitive communication assessment, evaluation, and intervention. You will also support research on neurorehabilitation technology and analyze secondary data sets to investigate the risk of cognitive decline.
You will coordinate the timing of project activities to ensure successful completion. You will develop program evaluation objectives and determine appropriate evaluation procedures. You will select statistical analyses, oversee project progress, produce reports detailing results, and maintain project budgets.
You will be responsible for the development, management, and integrity of all project data. You will conduct data collection and analysis while ensuring proper data methods, management, and security. You will ensure adherence to research protocols. You will also help develop research designs and strategies for data management. Additionally, you will manage participant recruitment and study protocols.
You will participate in research within the Speech & Hearing Sciences lab. This position is based in Spokane, WA, and may offer hybrid work opportunities with supervisor approval.

This is a full time (100% FTE), permanent position. This position is overtime eligible.
Monthly Salary:
Research Study Coordinator 1: $3,581 - $4,771 | Range 40 | Step A-M
Research Study Coordinator 2: $3,840 - $5,137 | Range 43 | Step A-M
Successful candidates are typically hired at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases in accordance with WAC 357-28.
In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate’s current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position.

Research Study Coordinator 1
Required Qualifications:
Two years of college level course work in a relevant academic area AND two years of experience as a Research Study Assistant OR equivalent education/experience.
Experience in qualitative analysis software (preferred Atlas, but other software accepted) for deductive and inductive coding and analysis.
Knowledge of focus group methodology
Ability to use Mac-based office and data analysis software, and the ability to solve Mac hardware and software problems.
Working knowledge of program evaluation methodology, statistical analysis, and procedures.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience creating and/or implementing protocols, regulatory documents, timelines, budgets, and planning proposals for research projects.
Demonstrated experience in rhetoric and professional writing (i.e., professional YouTube videos, docuseries, book chapters, Zines, newsletter, newspapers, literary reviews) or professional documents (i.e., manuals, training products, reviews, etc.).
Experience interviewing (in-person and telephone) within a social/behavioral research setting or clinical setting.
Experience conducting focus groups and analyzing results
Experience in leading virtual study group of participants for a mixed audience of community members, clinicians, and external collaborators.
Background in speech-language pathology, occupational therapy, physical therapy, nursing, pharmacy, psychology, allied health or medicine OR professional, technical, or public writing
Experience in database design and programming (i.e. R or Python).
Knowledge of multivariate analysis techniques such as multiple analysis of variance, multiple regression, logistic regression, and factor analysis.
Research Study Coordinator 2
Required Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant academic area AND two years of experience as a Research Study Coordinator OR equivalent education/experience.
