About the Opportunity

Northeastern University seeks a motivated PhD-trained Research Scientist with a background in pharmaceutical sciences to support academic–industrial collaborative projects. The successful candidate will conduct research activities within translational research programs focused on drug discovery, drug delivery, diagnostics, and therapeutic development.

 

The Research Scientist will be responsible for performing research experiments, maintaining laboratory operations, collecting and analyzing data, and contributing to collaborative projects under the directions of senior scientific staff. This position provides excellent opportunity for professional development in pharmaceutical research at the academic–industry interface.

Qualifications

  •  Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry, Chemical or Biomedical Engineering, or a related field

  • Minimum of 1-2 years of post-graduate experience, including industrial experience.

  • Foundational knowledge in pharmaceutical sciences and drug delivery systems. Technical competency in one or more of the following areas:

    • Drug delivery systems (nanoparticles, liposomes, polymeric formulations)

    • Biopharmaceutics and pharmacokinetics

    • Biomarker discovery and validation (e.g., microRNA, proteomics, diagnostics)

    • Translational animal models of disease

  • Strong laboratory skills and attentional to detail in experimental procedures.

  • Great written and oral communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in multi-disciplinary teams.

Expected Hiring Range:

$66,850.00 - $94,427.50

With the pay range(s) shown above, the starting salary will depend on several factors, which may include your education, experience, location, knowledge and expertise, and skills as well as a pay comparison to similarly-situated employees already in the role. Salary ranges are reviewed regularly and are subject to change.
