Position Description:

The Kentucky Manufacturing Extension Partnership (KY-MEP) is seeking a Research Innovation Program Manager III for Growth and Innovation. Position will be part of the KY-MEP management team and will be responsible for the advancement of the Growth and Innovation suite of services. Responsibilities include development of suite strategies and services, management and development of programming, training standards, managing Growth and Innovation team, which includes third parties, and development of the go-to-market strategies. Position reports to the KY-MEP Deputy Director.

This is a grant funded position with funding through 12/31/27. Continued employment is contingent upon funding.

The KY-MEP office is based at the JD Nichols Campus for Innovation and Entrepreneurship in downtown Louisville.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work with the senior management team to align the Growth and Innovation suite of services, programming, and activities with KY-MEP’s strategies and initiatives.

  • Develop, manage, and grow KY-MEP’s Growth and Innovation systems/programs, delivery methods, activities, and delivery personnel.

  • Analyze, evaluate, and manage applicable Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) of delivery personnel and KY-MEP suppliers/contractors for the Growth and Innovation Platform.

  • Support main stakeholders and UofL initiatives as they relate to KY-MEP operations.

  • Travel as appropriate to support activities and efforts. Extensive instate travel.

  • Position will be expected to average 10 delivery days a month.

  • Support and align duties as deemed appropriate by KY-MEP senior management team.  

Preferred Qualifications

  • 7 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment with responsibilities to include development, training, and tracking of performance metrics.

  • 7 years’ experience developing, implementing, and delivering innovation and growth activities within a manufacturing environment.

  • Experience managing direct reports and building third party delivery networks.

  • Extensive instate vehicle travel

  • Ability to stay overnight as needed

  • Experience managing growth, business development and/or similar programming

  • Working knowledge of business development/growth best practices.

  • Team Management experience

  • Experience developing and delivering programming

  • Customer relationship management

  • Experience working with third party contractors.

  • Experience setting and managing Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) for success.

  • Working experience as a consultant

Target Compensation Maximum:

$113,160.00

Target Compensation Minimum:

$75,440.00

Compensation will be commensurate to candidate experience.
