We are looking for a Research Fellow to conduct research on membrane and separation technology for desalination, resource recovery, and decarbonization.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct membrane-related projects for desalination, decarbonisation, resource recovery, etc.
Design, optimisation, construction, commissioning and operation of membrane-based desalination and water reclamation pilot-scale and lab-scale systems.
Conduct membrane and separation process modelling, module-scale desalination system modelling, including conventional modelling and machine learning-based modelling.
Publish research data and prepare project progress reports.
Assist in the preparation of grant proposals.
Mentor junior PhD students, master’s students and undergraduate students for their research projects.
Job Requirements:
PhD degree from a reputable university in chemical engineering, environmental engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field.
Excellent journal paper publication record.
Excellent report writing skills.
Excellent oral presentation skills and multitasking skills.
Excellent experience in design, optimisation, construction, commissioning and operation of membrane-based desalination and water reclamation systems.
Excellent experience in membrane and separation process modelling, module-scale desalination system modelling, including conventional modelling and machine learning-based modelling.
Relevant research experience on membrane technology and separation technologies.
Relevant research experience on electrochemical processes and/or electrode synthesis.
Relevant research experience in scaling up electrochemical water technology.
Relevant research experience in the fabrication/synthesis of RO/NF/ion exchange membranes (IEMs)/organic solvent membranes and/or organic chemical synthesis, and membrane/separation process development.
Self-motivated and able to work independently and in a team.
Excellent interpersonal, collaboration and communication skills.
Strong sense of responsibility for research and project delivery.
