Mō te tūranga | About the role
As a member of the Corporate Banking team, you will provide credit and financial analytical expertise across a portfolio that includes some of New Zealand’s most prominent and large-scale corporate clients. You will demonstrate a deep and thorough understanding of each customer, their business operations, and the industry in which they operate, enabling you to deliver effective deal support through comprehensive research and analysis.
Your responsibilities will include safeguarding the health of the portfolio by applying sound credit management practices and supporting Relationship Managers in achieving optimal customer outcomes. You will produce accurate, concise, and well-reasoned credit submissions, while undertaking dynamic risk management through the timely monitoring of financial triggers, covenant compliance, and the completion of periodic risk reviews. This will involve continuous oversight of risk in accordance with policy standards and required timeframes.
This role will be ideal for an existing Analyst or Associate ready to move beyond foundational portfolio management and take on more challenging, proactive, and growth-focused customer relationships.

Strong knowledge of banking products and the New Zealand corporate banking business market
Commercial and corporate insight into New Zealand’s business and economic environment
Current or prior experience in a similar role
Proven experience in financial analysis and credit
Strong understanding of regulatory compliance and credit risk
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
A tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, or Business (preferred but not essential)
Familiarity with legal documentation would be advantageous
