Job Responsibilities
The Regulatory Reporting Analyst works within the regulatory reporting department and is involved in the day-to-day management of compliance within insurance regulatory systems. As a BHDIC full-time employee, the candidate will be a member of the BHDIC Regulatory Reporting Team, but may be assigned to work on either biBerk or THREE Insurance workers’ compensation policies.
This position is responsible for the following functions:
- Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for how to collect data from various company systems and being familiar with where data resides in systems.
- Serve as the SME for how to prepare data submissions to rating bureaus or state departments of insurance, which includes:
- Scanning data for errors
- Communication with other departments within the company regarding any issues
- Preparing a final data file
- Proposing changes to prevent future errors from occurring
- Including any transmittal letters which may be required
- Submission of data and error corrections to rating bureaus or state departments of insurance
- Interaction with rating bureaus or state departments of insurance including:
- Responding to questions about the data and/or errors
- Retrieving Error Reports from the insurance bureaus websites
- Fixing errors found by the rating bureaus, departments of insurance, or as requested by management
- Updating daily checklists and saving in designated shared drive folder
- Perform QC of workers compensation policy reporting performed by third party vendor
- Act as liaison between third party vendor and BHDIC to ensure the work transitioned to the vendor is performed accurately and timely and to answer questions and/or perform training to the vendor as needed.
- Have the ability to work early morning hours to accommodate vendor time zone (only when meetings with vendor are scheduled for which SME attendance is required—this is not anticipated to be a daily event, but could occur once per week)
- Assist with or create procedure documents, as requested.
- Work various department reports, as management may assign (to include, but not limited to error reports) and assign work to third party vendor, as may be requested
- Serve as backup to the other Regulatory Reporting Analysts on the Regulatory Reporting Team (who perform similar duties). This may include being trained in new tasks (including downloading error reports, and other duties, as required).
- When backup assignments are issued, this team member will serve as backup to other team members to cover some or all of their duties when they are out of the office. Likewise, when this team member is out of the office, the other team members will provide backup to this team member. The intention is to have a team which is fully cross-trained on all duties so work does not get backed up.

Qualifications
A successful candidate will possess the following skills or qualifications:
- Understanding of the manual workers compensation policy reporting process and all systems used for said reporting
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, specifically Excel (apply/remove filters, sorting data, and inputting data in correct format is critical to maintain the integrity of formulas within Excel files)
- A bachelor’s degree in Math, Economics, Finance, or other quantitative degree preferred
- An obsession with detail and inability to let problems grow, regardless of their magnitude
- Willingness to perform additional duties, as required
- Ability to follow instructions (training will be provided)
- Ability to communicate effectively with peers and management
- Ability to multi-task with multiple systems/applications open simultaneously
- Demonstrates the need to ask questions for clarity when something isn’t clear

In accordance with pay transparency laws and regulations, the following good faith compensation range estimate is being provided. The salary range for this position is $40,000-$55,000 per year. Final compensation will be based on candidate qualifications, geographic location, and other considerations permitted by law.
