Regional Technical Manager

Job Description

The Technical Manager supports the Business Unit at a regional level by providing expert technical, scientific, and medical veterinary guidance. This role partners closely with marketing, sales, and regulatory teams to ensure scientific excellence, strengthen customer engagement, and help achieve commercial targets. The TM acts as a trusted advisor to internal teams, external clients, and the broader scientific community.

Key Responsibilities:

External Customer Engagement

  • Support regulatory managers (local and regional) and designated points of contact in handling pharmacovigilance cases, product communications, and other regulatory matters requiring veterinary scientific expertise.
  • Provide scientific support to farmers, clinics, and key opinion leaders (KOLs).
  • Deliver diagnostic support on-farm/clinic and translate findings into actionable recommendations.
  • Develop clear, scientifically sound client communications on product-related topics.
  • Ensure ongoing scientific education and training for external stakeholders.

Scientific Community & KOL Collaboration

  • Provide high-quality scientific information through regular, well-organized visits to KOLs, universities, and medical stakeholders across CERG.
  • Plan and deliver scientific education and training initiatives.
  • Initiate, organize, and lead scientific events with KOLs and stakeholders (e.g., advisory boards, expert meetings, focus groups).

Internal Collaboration

  • Design and deliver high-quality scientific training for sales representatives and internal teams.
  • Contribute to strategic and tactical marketing plans by integrating customer insights, scientific data, pricing considerations, and practical product experience.
  • Review regional marketing materials to ensure scientific accuracy and compliance with company and legal requirements.
  • Provide field consultancy to support sales efforts in CERG countries.
  • Build a strong network with international technical managers and collaborate with global species marketing teams.

Product Support & Innovation

  • Maintain up-to-date, best-in-class scientific knowledge across veterinary medicine, science, and business by engaging with literature, KOLs, professional societies, symposia, congresses, trainings, and mentoring.
  • Co-create scientifically accurate, high-quality promotional materials in close collaboration with marketing.
  • Monitor competitive intelligence and market trends.
  • Initiate and oversee scientific/technical projects aligned with short-, mid-, and long-term marketing and sales plans.

Compliance

  • Ensure all activities adhere to applicable compliance requirements and the organization’s code of conduct.

Qualifications:

  • University degree in Veterinary Medicine; PhD or relevant specialization in species of focus is a must.
  • Practical experience in veterinary practice for relevant species, or in a scientific organization/technical services.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
  • Strong diplomacy, negotiation skills, and constructive assertiveness with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent presentation and scientific writing skills.
  • Understanding of marketing and business principles is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Exceptional organizational and planning abilities; comfortable managing conflicting priorities.
  • Ability to travel up to 60%.
  • Excellent command of English and Romanian (written and verbal).
