Job Summary: About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the Outdoor Recreation at Wright-Patterson AFB. Organizes and leads Outdoor and Community Program Activities. Teaches youth and adult recreation skills from beginner to advance. The position includes paid holidays, annual and sick leave accrual, as well as optional participation in Group Health, Dental and Life Insurance plans, Retirement, 401K and Flexible Benefits plans.

Major Duties:

  • Organize and leads Outdoor and Community Program Activities. Teaches youth and adult recreation skills from beginner to advance. Conducts outings and programs. Participates in and leads recreation programs. Sign up customers far classes, trips, and programs. Checks out equipment, rental items, etc. Process facility and equipment reservations. Provides Quality Customer service. Positively interact with all customers {Le., greets and offers assistance). Checks customer's eligibility. Resolves customer complaints and problems as empowered. Informs Outdoor Recreation Program Manager of any customer problems and concerns. Develops a comprehensive local resource inventory for program planning and referral. Provides customer information and referrals. Reviews and analyzes market data to determine program preferences. Develop a minimum of two special programs per month schedule. Support Recreation Operations; stock merchandise and assist in taking inventories, Performs interior and exterior facility maintenance tasks as required. Set up and tear down rooms arrangements for organizations according to their request Ensures implementation and maintenance of required sanitation practices. Practices safe procedures within all programs provided. Assists in Rental Equipment Checkout, program and trip sales operations. Prepares deposits and ensures daily deposits are delivered to central cashier. Collects cash, receipts. register tapes, credit cards receipts and other supporting documentation and cashes checks. Prepares cashier reports. reconciles and ·ensure proper accounting for' controlled forms and informs management of irregularities. Works with the Outdoor Recreation Manager to prepare annual and quarterly budgets for programs, Works under the direction of the Outdoor Recreation Program Manager. Maintain standard First Aid and CPR for both children and adults certification. Performs all other duties as assigned. Specialized experience may Include: Planning, organizing, coordinating, supervising, or evaluating community, industrial, outdoor, indoor. or other recreation programs. Instructing in the principles and techniques of recreation program planning and management. Serving in a leadership role in the programs and activities of local, regional, and or national recreational organizations. Education may be substituted for experience or vice versa. Undergraduate and Graduate education majoring in general recreation, or one of the appropriate fields such as outdoor recreation. Certified in standard First Aid and CPR for adults and children. Must be able to satisfactorily complete a National Agency Check with Inquiries {NACI). Must possess a valid motor vehicle operator's license. This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to random testing for drug- use.
