ABOUT THE ROLE:

This individual will be responsible for assigned shift operations within the Receiving Department. They will also ensure smooth, timely, and efficient movement of product through assigned areas of responsibility. Additionally, this individual will be accountable for daily tasks as it relates to the framework of the field concepts, operations, standard polices and procedures, reporting all business to upper management.

SALARY RANGE: $69K - $75K

Work Schedule: Mon - Fri / Day Shift
*Must be flexible due to business needs*

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Must be able to coordinate with the shift department heads to accommodate any outstanding work as well as ensuring proper labor coverage.
  • Monitor and track the productivity of the unloading of freight, ensuring receipt of incoming product and the proper staging and storage of orders occur.
  • Manage/monitor the inner-department transport of materials from building to building, department to department. 
  • Coordinate and conduct detailed Receiving requirements as it relate to DC foreign trade zone requirements.
  • Maintain carton activity per hour and transfer trailer reporting as needed, keeping service levels in mind.
  • Trouble shooting, e.g., performs QC audits as required.
  • Ability to develop and implement new warehouse processes.
  • Ability to do the general set-up for next day’s business.
  • Communicate, work closely, and cooperate with stakeholder ensuring that department/DC business goals/volumes are meet.
  • Ability to work with outside vendors.
  • Must be able to assign tasks and special projects ensuring efficient completion.
  • Work accurately, productively, thoroughly, safely, showing urgency, efficiency and setting a good example for others in the DC.
  • Be able to problem solve, when necessary, convey ideas clearly and concisely to your colleagues/superiors.
  • Attend Management Safety Meetings on the regular; maintain a safe/clean environment, assist with Daily Startup Meetings always including a Safety Topic, reporting any Safety Infractions, and following all safety rules/guidelines associated with the department/company.
  • Assist in training of new personnel as needed as directed by your superiors.  Assessing new personnel on job functions, expediency and efficiency sharing this info with colleagues and superiors as needed.
  • Maintain department/company performance goals, staying on task with administrative responsibilities (new hire orientation checklists, time sheets, department production hours, shift updates, requisitions, transfer documents, department training forms, etc.) within a timely manner.
  • Must be able to take direction from your superiors and to communicate when warranted.
  • Must be able to manage multiple tasks against daily competing priorities.
  • Partners with the Human Resources Department regarding reviews, interviewing, hiring, terminations, and corrective counseling within responsible area.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Warehouse/Receiving management experience a plus
  • 5+ plus years of office experience preferably in Warehouse/Receiving environment
