As Real Estate Development Administrator, you will advance the strategic direction and mission of Cleveland Clinic by aligning strategic real estate project development initiatives with core values and applying business intelligence to transform those values into actionable strategies. This enterprise program role oversees a real estate project portfolio ranging from traditional development and construction (buildings, programs) to initiatives furthering Cleveland Clinic’s mission.

This is an exciting opportunity because it combines strategic leadership with meaningful impact. In this role, you would help shape real estate initiatives that directly support Cleveland Clinic’s mission, influencing how facilities, programs, and spaces are developed to improve healthcare delivery. It also offers exposure to enterprise-level decision-making, allowing you to work across departments, apply business intelligence, and contribute to high-impact projects that extend beyond traditional construction. The position provides the chance to manage a diverse portfolio, collaborate with senior stakeholders, and play a key role in aligning real estate strategy with the organization’s long-term vision and values.

A caregiver in this position works from Monday – Friday on-site at Main Campus from 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:  

  • Identify, validate, and develop core business opportunities consistent with Market Strategy.
  • Conduct feasibility studies including anticipated needs, geographic preferences, and marketing analysis.
  • Develop a real estate portfolio of solutions focused on opportunities of highest strategic value.
  • Analyze and define project benefits such as financial return, patient experience enhancement, smart growth, marketing, and community impact.
  • Recommend viable courses of action and actively manage transition from strategy to design phase.
  • Expedite project delivery and facilitate speed to market while maintaining communication throughout the project life cycle.
  • Identify and resolve potential regulatory compliance impacts (municipal councils, zoning commissions, historic commissions, Environmental Protection Agency, Army Corps of Engineers, etc.).
  • Negotiate terms and recommend actions to ensure compliance and protect Cleveland Clinic interests.
  • Develop projects to conform to financial constraints and modulate design guidelines to align with initial financial projections.
  • Coordinate project definition and collateral materials to support Buildings + Design, Strategy Office, Government Relations, Finance, Law, and Media Relations.
  • Provide business intelligence, project data, and feedback throughout the project life cycle.
  • Monitor projects to promote and protect Cleveland Clinic interests and ensure alignment with mission, vision, and values.
  • Develop management reports to include statistics on portfolio performance, asset values and analysis, transaction costs, management contract analysis, operational efficiency, and space analysis.
  • Ensure compliance with all Stark and anti-kickback regulations and the Joint Commission.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Ten years of project development experience, including managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Demonstrated ability to work experience working with multi-functional teams and external partners to effectively accomplish favorable real estate portfolio goals.
  • Knowledge of property entitlement processes, development planning, building codes, and healthcare facility requirements.
  • Knowledge of real estate finance, pro forma modeling, and layered financing structures.
  • Knowledge of real estate and professional services contracting
  • Experience with MS Office products and Property Management Software System Solutions
  • Strong leadership, strategic planning skills, and ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Expertise in feasibility analysis, financial modeling, and regulatory compliance
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • Master’s degree
  • Healthcare Background
  • Familiarity with Ohio and Florida real estate markets

Physical Requirements: Business & HR to confirm

  • Requires sitting and dexterity to perform work on a PC, and the ability to walk to parts of various hospital campuses to attend meetings.
  • Must have normal or corrected vision, and the ability to verbally communicate to upper-level management.
  • Must have ability to visit active construction project sites and navigate over obstacles.
  • Individual must have the dexterity to safely walk a construction site on a daily basis including excavated sites, climbing up and down ladders, and climbing / traversing scaffolding.
  • Occasional lifting of 5 to 15 pounds.
  • May require national and international travel to contractors, Clinic facilities, and project sites.
