The job  

We are seeking a skilled R&D Member of Technical Staff II to design, develop, and deliver high quality industrial automation software using C#/.NET, and Angular. In this role, you will contribute across the full development lifecycle including requirements elaboration, coding, testing, and debugging. You will make thoughtful technical decisions that balance performance, scalability, reliability, and maintainability, while actively collaborating with teammates and contributing to design discussions and engineering best practices.

A key expectation for this role is strong proficiency in modern AI assisted engineering tools. This includes using HVE (Hyper Velocity Engineering) to translate requirements into clear user stories, along with leveraging AI for code generation, unit test creation, automated documentation, and self-PR reviews to improve quality and engineering velocity. You will also mentor junior developers, continue expanding your technical depth, and support AVEVA’s focus on Cloud and AI technologies, particularly within the Microsoft Azure ecosystem.

 

Key responsibilities 

As R&D Member of Technical Staff - II, your responsibilities will include: 

  • Making sound technical decisions and trade‑offs across scalability, reliability, performance, and maintainability that positively influence team outcomes
  • Designing, developing, testing, and debugging high-quality software applications while upholding engineering excellence
  • Utilizing AI‑driven tools to transform requirements into clear implementations, including AI‑assisted code generation, unit tests, and development artifacts
  • Producing clear and thorough technical documentation that captures product behavior, design intent, and implementation details
  • Collaborating closely with the team to plan, prioritize, and execute development efforts while contributing thoughtful feedback on designs, features, and pull requests
  • Continuously expand technical expertise and mentor junior developers, fostering a culture of learning and shared technical ownership

 

Essential requirements

  • Strong experience developing software in C#/.NET and Angular
  • Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Math, Physics, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
  • 2–5 years of Software product or application development experience
  • Proficient in AI‑assisted engineering tools, including HVE (Hyper Velocity Engineering), to elaborate requirements into high‑quality user stories with clear acceptance criteria
  • Skilled in AI‑driven development workflows, such as AI‑assisted code generation, unit tests authoring, and automated documentation creation to improve engineering velocity
  • Experienced in using AI tools for rigorous self‑PR review, leveraging automated analysis to enhance code quality and catch issues early
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Azure as a cloud platform, including working knowledge of Azure AI Search, with experience in industrial automation software delivered on cloud

Desired skills and competencies

  • Familiarity with software design patterns (objected oriented design), Computer Science fundamentals/principles and methodologies, as well as knowledge of operating system internals
  • Sharp debugging and problem-solving skills
  • The ability to clearly communicate complex ideas both verbally and in written form
  • Eagerness to accept and expand upon skills and knowledge based on feedback
  • Someone who seeks advice on how to approach and prioritize development efforts
