Reporting to the Project Manager, the Quality Assurance Lead will be responsible for all quality related activities on the assigned project. While playing an integral role on the project team, the Quality Assurance Lead will implement and maintain quality assurance programs and auditing processes/documentation to ensure compliance to standardized requirements are met.Lead implementation of Bird and Client quality programs for civil works.
Manage document control systems for drawings, inspection records, and test reports.
Audit and inspect civil construction activities for compliance with standards.
Develop and maintain inspection and test plans (ITPs) for civil projects.
Ensure full traceability of materials and processes from order to installation.
Coordinate document flow between site teams, subcontractors, and client.
Prepare and issue non-conformance reports; track corrective actions.
Compile project turnover packages and as-built documentation.
Conduct independent inspections and dimensional checks on civil structures.
Verify subcontractor compliance with QA/QC and documentation procedures.
Maintain organized project files and generate quality reports.
Stop any activity violating quality or environmental standards.
Collaborate with site leadership to produce accurate end-of-project records.
Perform inspections on structural components per codes and client specs.
Ensure timely and accurate recording of all quality-related documents.
Abide by Health & Safety regulations and company policies.
Post-secondary degree in a Civil Engineering, Civil Engineering Technology, or Construction Engineering Technology
5+ years’ work experience in a related role on civil projects required
ISO 9000 program experience an asset
Competent with all Microsoft Office applications
Highly developed interpersonal skills and strong customer service orientation
Sense of urgency and strong commitment to achieving goals
Ability to forge, grow and maintain positive relationships with multiple groups
Strong written and oral communication skills
Able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and meet the time demands of unpredictable activities; capable of handling pressure and challenges in a dynamic business environment
Ability to work within tight deadlines and prioritization of work to achieve them
Strong organization, analytical, critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
