What you will be doing:

The MRO Purchaser is responsible for the sourcing, procurement, and management of Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) materials including spare parts, industrial supplies, and safety equipment. This role ensures the timely and cost-effective availability of materials to support plant operations and minimize downtime.

  •  Source, evaluate, and purchase MRO materials including spare parts, industrial supplies, and personal protective equipment (PPE) / safety equipment

  • Identify and develop relationships with reliable suppliers to ensure quality, availability, and competitive pricing

  • Negotiate pricing, lead times, and terms with vendors to achieve cost savings and service level targets

  • Issue and manage purchase orders (POs) in the system accurately and in a timely manner

  • Identify opportunities for supplier consolidation and standardization to improve efficiency

  • Monitor and maintain optimal stock levels of critical spare parts and MRO consumables

  • Conduct regular inventory audits to ensure accuracy of parts inventory

  • Collaborate with the maintenance team to ensure that required materials are ordered on time for planned services

  • Resolve invoice discrepancies, delivery issues, and quality non-conformances with vendors

  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with key suppliers

  • Participate in cross-functional projects as required

What you bring:

  •  1-3 years of experience in MRO purchasing, procurement, or supply chain in an industrial or manufacturing environment

  • Post-secondary education in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field

  • Solid understanding of spare parts, industrial supplies, and safety equipment categories

  • Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar) an asset.

  • Strong negotiation, communication, and vendor management skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities

  • Experience in a heavy industrial or manufacturing plant environment

The annual salary range for this role is $75,000 - $90,000. Your base salary is determined based on location, experience and the pay of employees in similar positions.
