We are seeking a Technical Specialist on our Pension Risk Transfer New Business & Client Transition team.
The PRT New Business Technical Specialist is responsible for supporting the on-boarding of new clients for the domestic Pension Risk Transfer market. The successful candidate will work closely with clients, intermediary advisors, and internal business partners to ensure accurate transfer of information needed to administer the promised benefits. The New Business team is a critical contributor to the first impression that Prudential makes with new clients.
The current EWA for this position is hybrid and requires your on-site presence on a reoccurring basis as determined by your business. Your manager will provide additional details relative to the specific number of days you are expected to be on-site.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Participate in the pre-sale process including reviewing contractual documents, proposals/bid specs, and other documents to identify administrative challenges and solutions
• Review client provided calculation samples to access our processes for servicing the transaction to ensure we are aligned with the provisions
• Create processing summaries to document the procedures for the on-going administration for new transactions
• Perform on-boarding tasks, including any of the following: data review, actively participate in internal and external transition meetings, writing procedures and processing instructions, and providing internal business partners with support related to the new sale
• At times, there may be a need to support the Transition Manager by handling internal and external meetings in their absence as needed
• Analyze risk and propose business solutions for the on-boarding of new transactions and report to various levels of management
• Provide consultative support as needed to internal business partners for transactions recently on-boarded to help them understand processes, calculations, and other administrative items
• Work on special projects as needed
• Support audit work and participate in risk activities as needed
• Manage complex cases
• Support technology builds for New Business as SME and/or tester as needed
• Supports the training of newer associates
• Initiate and implement process/procedural improvements to improve operational efficiency
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
• Minimum of 3 years Defined Benefit experience strongly preferred
• 3-5 years PRT experience preferred
• Strong Excel skills
• Must have a solid understanding of PRT operations and processes
• Ability to interpret legal documents and propose modification
• Ability to manage time effectively
• Discretion to deal with confidential information
• Keen attention to detail
• Problem solving ability
• Excellent written communication and presentation development skills
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to collaborate and influence across functional teams
• Self-motivated and proactive
• Flexible with the ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment
**This is a hybrid role. The expectation is that candidates have the ability to work from one of the following Prudential locations:
Hartford CT, Scranton PA, Newark NJ.
