Compensation: The full salary range for this position is $60,000-$85,000 annually. The anticipated starting pay is $60,000-$65,000 determined by factors such as skills, experience, and organizational considerations. Final compensation will be established through the interview process in accordance with applicable pay equity and transparency laws.

We are seeking a Property Tax Accountant to support real and personal property tax compliance across the United States and Canada. This role partners closely with an external property tax vendor and internal teams to ensure the accuracy of property tax filings, payments, and accruals. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and experience working with multi-jurisdictional tax requirements.

What You’ll Do

  • Support U.S. and Canadian real and personal property tax compliance, including coordination of tax payments, review of tax bills, and assistance with property tax accruals and reconciliations.

  • Partner with external property tax vendors to ensure timely and accurate filings and payments, respond to routine data requests, and resolve discrepancies.

  • Prepare and compile data for annual property tax renditions and review vendor-prepared renditions for accuracy and completeness.

  • Investigate property tax notices, billing discrepancies, penalties, and interest, escalating issues and coordinating with vendors and internal stakeholders as needed.

  • Support property tax appeals by gathering supporting documentation, assisting with filings, tracking appeal status, and coordinating with vendors and internal teams.

  • Collaborate with accounting, finance, fixed assets, and real estate teams to gather and validate property tax data.

  • Maintain documentation and follow established processes to support compliance, audits, and internal controls, while identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.

  • Provide support for ad hoc property tax projects and analyses, including process improvements and cross-functional initiatives.

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

  • CPA designation or progress toward CPA preferred.

  • 1–3 years of experience in corporate tax, property tax, or state and local tax compliance.

  • Experience supporting U.S. and/or Canadian property tax preferred.

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

  • Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and tax compliance tools preferred.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver accurate results in a deadline-driven environment.
