What You Will Do:
 

Join a high-performing team supporting the Department of Navy (DoN) NAVSEA 06 Directorate in achieving audit readiness and sustaining property accountability processes, specifically around Operating Materials and Supplies – Remainder (OM&S-R). This role focuses on audit readiness, internal controls, and sustainment activities with a strong emphasis on acquisition experience and Navy ERP (Inventory Module) expertise. You will help ensure compliance with OMB Circular A-123, GAO standards, and DoD/DoN property accountability guidance while driving improvements in efficiency, transparency, and operational effectiveness.

Responsibilities include the following:

  • Lead and support audit readiness initiatives, including risk assessments, internal controls testing, and remediation activities.

  • Develop and maintain property accountability procedures aligned with DoD and DoN guidance (e.g., DoDI 5000 series, DFARS 200 series, OPNAVINST 4440.26C).

  • Perform end-to-end walkthroughs of property management processes, documenting controls and testing design and operating effectiveness.

  • Prepare and review cycle memorandums, walkthrough questionnaires, and audit documentation (PBCs).

  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation in asset management workflows, including dashboards, visualizations, and integration of scalable tools.

  • Support sustainment and acquisition-related property accountability requirements, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

  • Provide subject matter expertise on Navy ERP Inventory Module functionality and integration with property management processes.

  • Draft briefings, position papers, and presentations for program milestones.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure readiness for financial statement audits and internal control evaluations.


What You Will Need:

  • An ACTIVE and MAINTAINED SECRET Federal or DoD security clearance

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • SIX (6) years of experience supporting audit readiness, audit remediation, internal controls, and financial processes in accordance with GAAP, SFFAS, and OMB policies for Defense agencies or large organizations including at least FIVE (5) years of experience supporting DoD or other federal government customers in acquisition and sustainment (supply chain management)

  • Demonstrated experience in property management accountability and sustainment, including OM&S-R and Navy ERP Inventory Module expertise

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail 

  • Strong oral and written communication skills


What Would Be Nice To Have:

  • At least one professional certification: CPA, CISA, CIA, CGFM, or CDFM

  • Experience performing financial statement audits, MICP/internal controls services, or audit remediation within DoD or other Federal agencies

  • Navy experience (preferably with Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA))

  • Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, flexible, fast-paced environment

  • Experience with sustainment programs

  • Experience in acquisition, comptroller, and/or operational programming functions

The annual salary range for this position is $113,000.00-$188,000.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
