Role & Responsibilities

  • Responsible for project initiation from when the contract is obtained until the project is created in ERP

  • Distribute the project budget

  • Define the initial project plan

  • Work with project team members as a project planning specialist

  • Manage the planning process and the tools as well as their deployment and use

  • Recommend policies and procedures regarding work distribution structure and schedule development. Suggest improvements

  • Improve the progress of the work and review information in order to define problems and make planning recommendations. This includes analyzing gaps between actual/scheduled time and the money spent for a given project

  • Develop schedules for a project team or a team tasked with a proposal regarding strategic contracts or bids that include complex or multiple mechanisms

Required Competencies & Experience

  • College diploma or university degree in administration or in another technical field

  • Minimum of five years’ experience or an equivalent combination of training and experience in project planning and monitoring

  • Excellent problem-solving skills

  • Relevant experience in an industrial environment

  • Good organizational skills

  • Accuracy and precision

  • Good interpersonal skills & diplomatic abilities

  • Good communication skills (written and spoken)

  • Ability to manage one’s time and multiple projects with tight deadlines

  • Experience in program management, MS Project, and an enterprise resource planning (ERP) environment an asset

  • Ability to communicate with customers

  • Innovation, creativity, sense of ownership

  • Ability to work in a very fast-paced, dynamic environment with minimum guidance and supervision

  • Bilingualism in both French and English is required

  • CAPM or PMP an asset

  • CAE employees must be able to meet the requirements of the Canada Controlled Good Program (CGP), and in certain cases, ITAR requirements.
