Financial Services Project Manager

The Role
Capco is looking for a Financial Services Project Manager to join our Business Consulting practice in Sheffield. You will lead end-to-end delivery of strategic change initiatives across Banking & Payments clients, ensuring programmes are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned to client outcomes.
Working in a collaborative consulting environment, you will partner with stakeholders across business and technology teams to translate strategy into structured delivery plans, while maintaining strong governance and transparent communication throughout the project lifecycle.
What You’ll Do
Lead the delivery of Banking & Payments change programmes from initiation through to implementation
Define project scope, plans, milestones, budgets, and governance frameworks
Manage cross-functional teams across business and technology workstreams
Identify, track, and mitigate risks, issues, and dependencies
Provide clear reporting and updates to senior stakeholders and client leadership
What We’re Looking For
Proven experience delivering projects within Financial Services, ideally Banking or Payments
Strong knowledge of project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid approaches)
Experience working in consulting or client-facing environments
Ability to manage multiple stakeholders across matrixed organisations
Strong communication, planning, and organisational skills
Bonus Points For
Experience delivering regulatory, digital, or payments transformation programmes
Exposure to core banking systems, payments platforms, or customer transformation initiatives
Professional certification (e.g., PRINCE2, PMP, Agile certifications)
Experience managing budgets and commercial tracking
Familiarity with risk, compliance, or operational resilience frameworks
