About Our Internship Program
Nasdaq’s Internship Program is a 10-week summer experience designed to give students real exposure to how global markets and technology come together. Our interns work on meaningful projects alongside Nasdaq teams, gaining hands-on skills that make an impact on the business.
We believe the best way to learn is by doing — that’s why you’ll be paired with a mentor, connected with senior leaders, and included in professional development sessions. You’ll also join a diverse global intern community, sharing experiences and building networks that last beyond the program.
Our goal is to provide a supportive, engaging, and fun environment where your work feels valued and your growth comes first. Check out our Nasdaq Internship Program page to learn more and hear directly from past interns about their journeys.
The Product Owner Intern partners with business stakeholders and an agile delivery team to help define, refine, and communicate product needs so that engineering teams can deliver valuable solutions. This internship is designed to provide hands-on experience with core Product Owner responsibilities—such as discovery, requirements elaboration, backlog support, and acceptance testing—while working under the guidance of a Product Owner and experienced team members.
Reporting to a Senior Manager within the product delivery team, you’ll collaborate across product, technology, and governance functions. You’ll support Nasdaq’s innovative product offerings by working with internal stakeholders to help evaluate needs, document requirements, and execute change through the software development lifecycle.
What You’ll Do
- Support backlog refinement by organizing items, drafting summaries, and helping maintain prioritization with the Product Owner.
- Draft and refine user stories and acceptance criteria with the Product Owner and Product Manager to align with product vision and strategy.
- Help gather and analyze requirements, using approved AI tools to accelerate creation of product artifacts (with human review and validation).
- Participate in agile ceremonies (stand-ups, planning, refinement, reviews, retros) and take ownership of assigned analysis, testing support, and documentation deliverables.
- Support validation and testing by helping plan and track UAT, validating sprint outcomes against acceptance criteria, and documenting feedback and next steps.
What You’ll Bring
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Information Technology, Business, or a related field (or equivalent relevant experience/projects).
- Interest in (or coursework/exposure to) Agile and Lean product development, including the Product Owner role.
- Ability to synthesize written and verbal input into concise, testable requirements and acceptance criteria.
- Comfort using approved AI tools to accelerate work, paired with sound judgment and discretion (protect confidential information and follow privacy/security guidance).
- Strong collaboration, communication, and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment; able to manage multiple priorities.
Nice-to-Have
- Curiosity and problem-solving mindset—able to propose options, ask “why,” and explore data to support recommendations.
- Demonstrated client focus (through work, school, or extracurricular experience) and comfort partnering with diverse stakeholders.
- Self-starter with an eagerness to learn and grow into a fintech product career path.
