The Product Manager Director is highly diverse role and requires an agile, situational leader within the engineering organization to shape and execute McNeilus’s product strategy and program execution. The position will lead both Product Management and Program Management, ensuring alignment between long-term vision and day-to-day delivery. The ideal candidate brings experience across engineering, operations, marketing, and sales, and excels at leading through influence, serving as a central hub that connects stakeholders, drives alignment, and delivers strategic initiatives to completion. This leader will build strong relational engagement with team members, customers, industry experts, suppliers, and cross-functional partners to accelerate progress and achieve business outcomes.

YOUR IMPACT:

These duties are not meant to be all-inclusive and other duties may be assigned: 

  • Strategic leader who connects vision to execution and drives product performance.
  • Leads, coaches, and develops teams to deliver results while fostering strong morale and living Oshkosh values.
  • Manages full product lifecycle, including roadmap (MGPP), prioritization, development, launch, and lifecycle optimization.
  • Ensures program adherence to Oshkosh’s Global Product Development process.
  • Owns product line performance, including financials, market metrics, and portfolio health.
  • Drives cross-functional alignment and communication to ensure stakeholder engagement and execution of strategy.
  • Influences senior leaders and partners across functions to achieve product strategy goals.
  • Partners with Engineering, Sales, and Service to align technology, market needs, and commercialization efforts.
  • Leverages deep market and competitive insight to identify opportunities, threats, and growth strategies.
  • Defines product positioning, pricing, and go-to-market strategies based on customer and market feedback.
  • Ensures consistent product experience across branding, design, and market-facing elements.
  • Delivers successful product launches and meets all stage-gate requirements.
  • Demonstrates agility, accountability, and resilience in navigating ambiguity and driving results.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or related field.
  • A minimum of ten (10) years of related experience
  • A minimum of three (3) years of management experience
  • Ability to effectively communicate at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong strategic mindset and an ability to lead through influence.
  • Substantiated evidence Essential Duties & Responsibilities can be successfully carried out.
  • Ability to travel up to 40%, this is highly dependent on business cycle and needs.

STANDOUT QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Degree in Engineering
  • Engineering and/or product management experience
  • Experience in environmental/refuse industry
  • Master's degree (MBA, Marketing, Engineering, or related field)
  • Rental and/or Dealer Channel experience

WORKING CONDITIONS:

The following represents general working conditions for this role. Specific conditions may vary depending on business needs and individual circumstances. 

  • This role combines office-based administrative duties with physical activity in field or production environments. 

  • In the office setting, tasks may require extended computer use, sitting, and attending meetings. 

  • Field or floor work may involve walking across various terrains or shop floors, standing, moderate lifting (up to 50 pounds), climbing stairs, and exposure to varying temperatures or noise levels. 

  • Must be able to shift focus between detailed cognitive work and occasional physical tasks as needed.

Pay Range:

$136,800.00 - $253,200.00

The above pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target pay for the position across all U.S. locations. Within this range, individual pay is determined by various factors, including the scope and responsibilities of the role, the candidate's experience, education and skills, as well as the equity of pay among team members in similar positions.
