The Opportunity:

Join our dynamic Procurement team as a Category Buyer and play a pivotal role in optimizing the procurement of indirect goods and services. You’ll be at the forefront of strategic sourcing initiatives that directly impact our bottom line while supporting our rapid growth trajectory. This is an exceptional opportunity that will focus on developing and implementing procurement strategies that deliver cost savings, enhance supplier relationships, and improve overall efficiency.

 

What You Will Do

  • Strategic Sourcing: Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to ensure the best value for indirect goods and services, with a particular emphasis on IT procurement.
  • Category Management: Oversee less complex specific categories of indirect spend, including but not limited to IT hardware, software, services, and/or telecom. Assist with development and implementation of procurement strategies specifically for assigned categories.
  • Cost Analysis: Conduct detailed cost analysis and market research to support sourcing decisions, especially in the IT domain.
  • Supplier Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, ensuring high performance and compliance with agreements. Focus on cultivating partnerships with key IT suppliers and service providers.
  • Contract Negotiation: Lead less complex contract negotiation processes, ensuring favorable terms and conditions through partnership with key stakeholders (R&D, Legal, Security, Risk, etc.)
  • Specialize in negotiating less complex contracts for IT hardware, software, and services, including licensing agreements and service level agreements (SLAs).
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks associated with indirect procurement activities, with a focus on minimizing risks in IT procurement such as cybersecurity threats and supplier reliability.
  • Performance Tracking: Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to track procurement efficiency and effectiveness, including metrics specific to IT procurement such as total cost of ownership (TCO) and return on investment (ROI).
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, including IT, R&D, Security, etc. to understand their needs and align procurement strategies accordingly.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field. Advanced coursework or certifications in IT procurement is a plus.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in procurement, preferably in indirect categories with a strong emphasis on IT procurement.
  • Skills: Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills. Proven expertise in IT procurement, including knowledge of the latest IT trends and technologies.
  • Knowledge: Familiarity with procurement software and tools. Specific experience with procurement systems and tools is highly desirable.
  • Certifications: Professional certifications such as CPSM, CIPS, or equivalent are a plus. IT-specific certifications like Certified Technology Procurement Executive (CTPE) are also beneficial.
