Process Mechanic - Chemical Processor

Company:

Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) is seeking a Process Mechanic to support the Chemical Processing Titanium and Aluminum Team in Hazelwood, MO!

Position Responsibilities:

  • Setup, load and operate cranes 
  • Use hand and power tools, measuring and indicating instruments such as hydrometers, micrometers, ammeters, voltmeters, thermometers, timers, and chemical testers necessary in performing any of these duties.
  • Control and operate chemical metal cleaning, treating and caustic etching processes such as anodizing, color anodizing, and alodining
  • Maintain solution at proper temperature, composition, and strength
  • Check density and temperature. Determine process times and equipment settings
  • Record data of tank solutions as required
  • Insert and remove parts from cleaning solutions for cleaning process
  • Prepare materials for chemical etching and coating
  • Touch up any imperfections in coatings before or during the chemical etching process

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options. 

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

• 1+ years’ of experience with chemical processing

• 1+ years’ of experience working with hazardous materials

Additional Information:

  • This is a union-represented position
  • This is an hourly position governed by the International Association of Machinist (IAM 837) Collective Bargaining Agreement The selected candidate must be able to work any shift, as assigned.
  • New Hires, as well as employees who transfer from non-union positions, may be required to attend some type of training upon their start. Once any required training has been completed all new employees will be considered on probation for a period of one hundred and twenty (120) calendar days. Continued employment is contingent upon successful completion of the probationary period
