Your responsibilities
The Privacy Advisor will be reporting to the Legal Director and will act as Privacy Advisor for the Ayvens business in Belgium within the framework of the General Data Protection Regulation (EU GDPR), Belgium Corporate laws and Ayvens group policies under the direction of the Legal Director.
Some of your responsibilities in your data privacy compliance role (LOD1) are:
- Continuing to evolve and shape data protection and privacy compliance programme;
- Advising and supporting the business to manage privacy risks on a day-to-day basis, including the review of privacy impact assessments, data inventories/mapping and other documents to evidence the company's data privacy compliance;
- Advising and influencing key stakeholders (including subject matter experts in InfoSec and IT teams) on data privacy and the protection strategy of the company;
- Embedding privacy by design principles into functional activities and implementation of new processes and systems within the entities which handle personal data;
- Answering to data subject requests.
- Playing a key role in investigating, documenting, and remediating potential security incidents that impact personal data as well as possible data breaches;
- Ensuring our products and services align with all privacy regulations across all markets focusing in particular on GDPR;
- Working with and supporting business teams in interactions with external third parties, including as required, vendors, Société Générale and other third parties;
- Provide regular training to the business on various GDPR-related topics with a view to keep GDPR on top of minds;
- Building out and managing operational aspects of a privacy programme, including maintaining/updating internal policies and procedures relating to data privacy;
- Horizon scanning for upcoming regulatory issues which could impact upon Avens operations and develop appropriate legal strategy; and
- Digesting regulatory changes and rules quickly in order to determine the impact for the business whilst helping to set appropriate risk tolerances for approach;
- Ensuring reporting requirements from the Ayvens group or external parties.
Who are we looking for?
- You have a background in Data protection and have followed GDPR related training
- Ideally you have a Legal background. This can be as a Bachelor or Master, but also in a working experience.
- You have a relevant working experience of at least 3 years
- You are able to communicate and convince, and to establish contact with multiple stakeholders
- You work autonomously, pragmatical and are able to find solutions and move forward independently
- You have the ability to deal with stressful situations (e.g. data breaches) and can act fast and correctly if required
- You are fluent in Dutch, French and English.
