FIS

Principal Frontend Engineer

IRL DUBL 11-12 Full time

FIS is a global leader in financial technology, powering mission‑critical systems that help the world pay, bank, and invest. If you’re passionate about advancing the future of fintech and building transformative products used across the money lifecycle, we’d like to ask you: Are you FIS?

About the team:

Revenue Connect is FIS’s next‑gen cloud platform reinventing commercial pricing and billing for banks of all sizes. We're building from the ground up using AWS, modern UI/UX patterns, and event‑driven, API‑first services to eliminate decades of technical debt and deliver the speed, accuracy, and transparency banks expect.

In 2026 we’re making AI a first‑class product capability: think statement explainability, anomaly & exception insights, pricing advisors, and analysis copilots integrated directly into the front‑end experience. As Principal Front‑End Engineer, you will be a hands‑on technical leader who shapes our web architecture and design system, delivers AI‑enhanced user experiences, champions accessibility and performance, and mentors engineers while partnering with product, design, and platform peers.

What you will be doing:

  • Own mission‑critical user journeys end‑to‑end—designing and building responsive, accessible experiences that are secure, resilient, and highly performant across tenants and regions.
  • Lead the front‑end architecture for a modern React/Next.js stack (or equivalent) including design system foundations, state management, data‑fetching patterns, and cross‑app shell/navigation, with clear contracts to back‑end and platform services
  • Productize AI in the UI: integrate LLM‑ and ML‑powered features (e.g., statement summaries, guided analysis, anomaly narratives, configuration assistants) with guardrails for safety
  • Build secure, robust, scalable, and performant reusable frontend components with a keen eye for usability.
  • Translating designs and wireframes into modern highly response user interfaces.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams (engineering, product, design, security, compliance etc.) to bring ideas to life
  • Translate complex product requirements into clean, maintainable, scalable, and well documented code.
  • Design, develop, and maintain software applications and systems that provide value to end-users.
  • Debug and troubleshoot software issues to ensure business continuity, and a high bar for end-user experience.
  • Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality, maintainability, and adherence to coding standards.
  • Write unit & integration tests, implement observability, and comply with best practices for builds and deployment to ensure the quality and reliability of our platform.
  • Provide live on-call support by participating in the team on-call rotation and owning production issues from root cause analysis to resolution to future prevention.
  • Mentor engineers to multiply team velocity and quality

What you will need:

  • At a minimum, a Bachelor's in CS or equivalent education or equivalent work experience. 10+ years (or equivalent) building sophisticated web applications with JavaScript/TypeScript and a major framework (e.g., React); proven expertise in front‑end architecture and design systems for enterprise SaaS
  • Demonstrated experience shipping AI‑enabled UX in production (LLM or ML‑backed features, RAG patterns)
  • Deep command of performance engineering (Core Web Vitals, profiling, bundle analysis, SSR/edge), security (XSS, CSP, OAuth/OIDC), and accessibility (WCAG).
  • Strong knowledge of API integration patterns, schema evolution, and multi‑tenant platforms
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience leading projects from architectural design to production, while setting and maintaining high standards of technical excellence across your team.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills, and a history of collaborating effectively with your team and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Experience or interest in building frontends for consumer facing products in fintech

Added bonus if you have:

  • Experience building user interfaces for financial products, or consumer products.
  • Proficiency in modern development frameworks and languages. (e.g., JavaScript, TypeScript).
  • Experience with DevOps practices like continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD).
  • Expertise w/ frontend frameworks/languages such as React, Redux, Vue.js, Angular.
  • Experience with testing and A/B experimentation frameworks, tools, and methodologies including jest, selenium, cypress, mocha chai.
