Principal Business Architect

The Principal Business Architect is responsible for partnering with business, product, and technology leaders to identify and lead strategic initiatives that deliver exceptional experiences for our advisors and clients, aligned with our enterprise strategies. The role will bring a strategic, enterprise viewpoint to deliver interconnected end-to-end experiences, bridging the gap between business strategy and its successful execution, and assuring delivery of desired business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Maintain extensive knowledge of the financial services industry, technology landscape, end-user trends, and our business strategies. Educate both IT and the business on opportunities. Identify and recommend innovative technologies that drive the business forward and maintain or create a competitive advantage.

Lead proof of concept and discovery initiatives following data driven methodologies to assess value of potential investments. Develop business cases and influence leadership on key decisions with clear and concise recommendations derived from analysis.

Lead strategic initiatives to deploy new capabilities that create exceptional experiences for our advisors and clients, enabled through technology.

Lead the development and maintenance of business capability road maps, target operating models, our customer experience strategy, and other business architecture assets, and ensure they are aligned to and enable business goals.

Be a champion across the organization for business architecture, customer experience, product methodology, and agile ways of working. Partner closely with other architecture disciplines. Educate to unify efforts and enable understanding of how each role has an important part to play in driving total results. Facilitate interactive group sessions to build understanding, support, and engagement.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent (4 years).

  • 7+ years technology experience - including technical architecture, systems analysis and system design experience.

  • 5+ years business architecture experience.

  • 5+ years experience working on agile projects.

  • Experience driving business requirements through process mapping, modeling and information flows.

  • Proven ability to apply architectural principles, methods and tools to solve for business challenges.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; including the ability to effectively communicate at all levels of an organization.

  • Expert knowledge of modeling simulation and analysis techniques and methodologies.

  • Experience and proficiency using Microsoft Office products (e.g. PowerPoint, Excel, Viso).

Base Pay Salary

The estimated base salary for this role is $137,400 - $185,000 a year. We have a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy. Your initial total compensation may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographical work location. In addition, most of our roles are eligible for variable pay in the form of bonus, commissions, and/or long-term incentives depending on the role.
