The Principal AVDIC provides consulting, design, and project management services to campus partners for new audio-visual system projects. Responsible for development of project related documents and their execution including proposals, technical designs, and others as governed by business processes. This position works with a wide variety of clients, departments, stakeholders, teams, and external trades to facilitate the deployment of supportable and standards-based AV systems.
Your core responsibilities will include:
Take projects from original concept through final implementation, following established consulting, project management, and design processes.
Consult & partner with stakeholders, campus partners, and vendors to achieve project goals within defined project scope and budget.
Develop layouts, markups, technical system drawings, and related documentation for new projects based on established campus audio-visual standards.
Insure project and business continuity through implementation of all standard project documentation.
Coordinate and oversee AV-related project work, including with outside vendors and non-university contractors, for the implementation and support of project AV systems
Other duties as assigned
Position specific job responsibilities:
Work with D-Tools and Microsoft Visio for technical designs and equipment lists.
Work with AV Architect and AV team leads to ensure projects and designs follow campus standards for user experience, supportability, & cost control.
Physical and Mental Requirements:
Requires wide range of mobility, i.e., ability to climb, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, reach, bend at waist, grasp and pick up objects, maneuver in cramped areas, perform minor repairs to equipment, stand for long periods of time, lift and carry equipment and other heavy materials up to 50 lbs. up stairs and pull and push carts up to 150 lbs. University offices, auditoriums and classrooms. Routine exposure to computer and audio- visual equipment.

Qualifications:
Bachelor Degree
Minimum level of formal education, technical school training, special knowledge, etc.
5-8 Years of Relevant Work Experience
Previous Experience With Consulting, project management, technical AV systems design
