Job Description Summary:
Analyze changes in postpaid voice volume trends and develop a narrative for leaders regarding the attribution and key drivers of current trends.

Overall Purpose:
Note: This job requires special approval from the Compensation Job Family Owner. This role is responsible for strategically analyzing data from diverse sources using advanced predictive modeling, statistical techniques, and trend analysis. The goal is to drive informed decision-making and optimize business performance.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:
Typical tasks may include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Data Analysis and Interpretation:
    Gather, analyze, and interpret complex data sets to solve a variety of business problems, predict behaviors, and identify causal relationships and trigger points. Proficiency with relational databases (e.g., Oracle, MySQL) and/or data warehouse solutions (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks Delta Lake) is expected. Data sources may include internal and external repositories, data lakes, and data warehouses such as eCDW, BIDW, and others.

  • Statistical Methods and Decision Support:
    Apply advanced statistical methods to quantify data variances and utilize traditional modeling techniques to support decision-making. Common tools include Tableau, Palantir, Power BI (AI Insights), Databricks, AWS, Azure, Synapse, and H2O Driverless AI.

  • Business Case Development and Analytics Tools:
    Develop business cases and build complex models using big data analytics tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI AI Insights, Databricks) for process integration and improvement recommendations. Build and test predictive models (such as linear/logistic regression, time series) on various data samples and validate their accuracy in real-world scenarios.

  • Reporting and Business Insights:
    Create visualizations—including dashboards, reports, and charts—to communicate business insights. Advise business partners on data patterns and relationships, providing strategic recommendations and guiding business direction.

  • Postpaid Voice Volume Analysis: Analyze changes in postpaid voice volume trends, identify underlying drivers, and develop clear narratives and insights for leadership to support business decisions.

Job Contribution:
Recognized as an expert in the field, applying broad business knowledge and strategic insight into emerging trends and technologies to solve complex problems and drive organizational results. Leads critical, high-impact projects and designs/implements innovative business strategies. Works with minimal oversight, frequently consulting with senior leadership and influencing executive decisions. Serves as a mentor and assists others with challenging issues.

Education/Experience: Master's degree (MS/MA) desired from an accredited University in a Quantitative field of study such as Data Science, Math, Statistics, Engineering or Physics. 7+ years of related experience. Certification is required in some areas.

Our Principal Advanced Analytics earns between $143,800 - $215,800 USD Annual. Not to mention all the other amazing rewards that working at AT&T offers. Individual starting salary within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.
