Shift Overview: Monday - Thursday, four 9-hour days 6:30am-4:00pm and Friday 6:30am-10:30am

The job within a Metal Finisher/Painter performs general labor duties and assists with preparing parts for painting such as sanding and taping. They use basic hand tools and must maintain a clean and safe environment.

YOUR IMPACT

These duties are not meant to be all-inclusive and other duties may be assigned.

  • Disassemble truck components as assigned.
  • Grind and sand surfaces of parts, cabs, and truck bodies in preparation for painting.

  • Prepare components for the painting process using basic hand tools.

  • Perform quality inspections to ensure work meets established standards.

  • Safely lift and position light to heavy truck components on and off carts and hangers.

  • Hang and remove parts from paint line systems as required.

  • Assist team members with lifting and positioning components onto carts or hangers.

  • Push and pull carts to transport equipment and parts to and from designated areas.

  • Assist with sanding, caulking, and taping of truck components prior to painting.

  • Accurately record inventory of parts moving in and out of the paint department.

  • Use a computer system to locate and track parts.

  • Communicate clearly and effectively with coworkers to maintain a safe work environment.

  • Follow written and verbal instructions to complete tasks safely and efficiently.

  • Demonstrate understanding of different truck components and required tools.

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, including sweeping, cleaning, and painting as needed.

  • Review and complete daily production and work documentation.

  • Work overtime as required to meet production demands.

  • Operate a materials cart or forklift to transport truck components to and from designated areas.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • General Knowledge of hand tools and a basic knowledge of sanding
    Willing to learn

STANDOUT QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or its equivalent.
  • Six (6) or more months of experience in manufacturing or an evaluated equivalent.
  • Ability to read and use a tape measure.
