A Glimpse of the Job
The Arch H. Aplin III '80 Department of Marketing at Mays Business School, Texas A&M University seeks a full-time Postdoctoral Research Associate to advance a rigorous program of original marketing scholarship while contributing to the department's broader research infrastructure. The postdoc will develop and pursue their own research agenda under the supervision of a tenured professor within the marketing department. The postdoc will collaborate with Marketing faculty to design and implement studies, and work toward producing scholarship publishable in top outlets, including research that is both actionable and academically rigorous when appropriate. As part of this research mission, the postdoc will oversee the Jeff Conant Behavioral Lab, maintaining it as a shared resource for the department by ensuring reliable study execution and operational support for faculty research. The position includes an annual allowance for research and conference-related travel and expenses, and the postdoc is expected to be in residence and engaged with faculty and the research environment throughout the appointment.
Please note the appointment is one year with the expectation of a second-year renewal contingent on satisfactory performance in the first year.
Opportunities to Contribute
Advancing a High-Quality Research Program
Develop and advance an independent research agenda under the supervision of at least one tenured marketing faculty member, moving projects from idea development through study execution to manuscript submission.
Collaborate with Marketing faculty on joint projects, contributing to research design, data collection, analysis, writing, and revisions.
Present research in progress within the department (e.g., research seminars/brownbags) and at academic conferences; incorporate feedback to strengthen work.
The overarching goal of this component is to help the postdoc build a strong publication record and research pipeline that positions them competitively for a tenure-track appointment in another university.
Supervising the Jeff Conant Behavioral Lab
Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Jeff Conant Behavioral Lab, a key piece of the department's research infrastructure.
Manage the Marketing subject pool through SONA, ensuring adequate participant availability for ongoing studies.
Serve as the primary point of contact for faculty, graduate students, and research teams regarding lab access, procedures, timelines, capacity, and feasibility planning.
Train, schedule, and supervise student workers and assistants supporting lab operations.
Ensure IRB and human-subjects compliance for all lab-based research procedures and documentation.
Report to the faculty director and implement additional lab priorities as assigned.
Other Duties
Contribute to the department’s research mission and community, including regular participation in Marketing research seminars, workshops, and research-related events.

Qualifications
Required Education and Experience:
PhD completed prior to start date in Marketing, Decision Sciences, Psychology, Behavioral Economics, or a closely related field.
No experience required.
A Well-Qualified Candidate Will Also Possess:
Appropriate PhD experience in related field.
Experience conducting consumer behavior or experimental research.
Research interests that align with the priorities of the marketing department and/or with at least one tenured faculty member.
Proficiency with SONA and Qualtrics.
Familiarity with IRB and human-subjects compliance, including research documentation and protocols.
Strong written and verbal communication.
Professional, service-oriented interpersonal skills with faculty, students, and research teams.
Excellent organization and attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced research environment.
Proficiency with common productivity software (e.g., Microsoft Office/Google Workspace) and research tools as needed.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively; proactive problem-solving mindset.
