About the Role
Join us as Portfolio Manager, Private Equity & Venture Capital at AIA Investment Management!
We are seeking for a Portfolio Manager, Private Equity & Venture Capital to
• source funds and lead due diligence on these investment opportunities for the AIA PE/VC program. The incumbent will also be involved in due diligence of co-investment opportunities as well as recommending/making investment decisions (in accordance with the AIAIM Investment Approval Authorities framework) on the allocation of such investment opportunities for respective PE/VC portfolios of AIA.
• lead and contribute towards portfolio management of the PE/VC portfolios of AIA, designing solutions that are suited for the requirements of the AIA Business Units.
• monitor investments under coverage in order to protect AIA’s interests and engage our fund managers professionally to build a long-term institutional relationship with our fund managers.
Responsibilities
- Source, perform due diligence and make investment recommendations on fund investments including:-
- sourcing and originating new fund investments for AIA PE/VC program.
- performing in-depth due diligence on fund opportunities, including assessing the manager’s target’s competitive advantages, value proposition, core strategy differentiation, team resources and track record.
- recommending the allocation of the fund opportunity to AIA portfolios.
- Perform due diligence and make investment recommendations on co-investment opportunities for the AIA PE/VC program including
- performing in-depth due diligence on such single-asset investments including assessing the competitive landscape of the target company, the competitive position, valuation, management team, financial model of the business plan and value-add strategies for the target company.
- recommending on the allocation of the target company to AIA portfolios.
- Accountable for portfolio management and portfolio monitoring of all investments assigned to the incumbent’s coverage.
- Represents AIA on Advisory Committee meetings of our funds, so as to protect AIA interests and perform enhanced oversight of our investments and position AIA as a responsible and valuable partner to our fund managers
- Monitor and analyse existing investments’ performances and developments
- Make recommendations on any investment decisions needed to preserve and/or enhance value of investments
Requirements
- A good degree in an investment or finance-related discipline, or relevant professional qualifications.
- Strong quantitative background/skill-sets
- A solid understanding of global private equity markets, with an ability to appreciate the performance potential and the nature of risk from different types of investment.
- Previous exposure to alternatives, especially private equity funds, would be an advantage.
- Strong communication and report-writing skills.
