General Accounting Specialist

About the position
Reporting to the Associate Director, Entity Controller for Animal Health in the Netherlands, you will hold responsibilities for different aspects of the financial accounting and reporting for our manufacturing, commercial, R&D, Technical Solutions and IP ownership functions across our three entities.
Our entity controlling department supports various Animal Health legal entities.
You will work closely with the other members of our controlling team and hold responsibilities for the internal and external accounting (USGAAP and NLGAAP) controlling tasks of our team.
Tasks and responsibilities include but are not limited to
· Perform general ledger accounting in accordance with US GAAP, Dutch GAAP, and tax regulations, supporting the monthly financial close for one or more legal entities.
· Build strong working relationships by developing a solid understanding of the finance organization and Animal Health business, partnering closely with key finance and business stakeholders.
· Manage fixed assets and project accounting for our company, collaborating with asset owners, project engineers, manufacturing finance, and the business service center.
· Provide financial support to the Animal Health Technology Solutions business.
· Oversee inventory accounting, including coordination and support of physical inventory counts.
· Collaborate with global IT, supply chain, and corporate tax teams to ensure goods and invoice flows comply with global transfer pricing policies.
· Assess and analyze the financial impact of projects and business initiatives, supporting informed decision-making.
· Support internal and external audits, coordinating responses to findings and driving continuous improvement to enhance efficiency and deliver high-quality results.
Your profile
· Master’s or bachelor’s degree in accounting, auditing or finance and at least 3 years of experience in accounting or auditing.
· Knowledge and understanding of USGAAP and Dutch GAAP.
· Ability to act in business partnership roles: advising, guiding, challenging and influencing.
· Interpersonal, communication, collaboration, negotiation and problem-solving skills.
· Adheres to the highest standards of ethical behavior.
· Build trust and credibility by delivering results and following through on commitments.
· Experience with Analytic Data and Prescriptive analytics is a preference.
