The Porter EVS will play an important role for performing cleaning duties, through proactive and professional services for Palms Casino Resort. The Porter EVS will be responsible for the cleaning of all public areas throughout the property. The Porter EVS fulfills the detailed services of The Palms Casino Resort and is highly knowledgeable in the operation of the equipment used to complete assigned projects. The Porter EVS is trained and certified in the proper use of equipment to perform detailed cleaning on the property.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the cleanliness and sanitization of all public areas within the property.

  • Carefully and safely operate all cleaning equipment.

  • Ensures all informational signs, light fixtures, picture frames, TV Monitors, and various high décor to be free of dust.

  • Heavy cleaning such as shampooing carpets, stripping and waxing floors, polishing marbles, pressure washing, emptying trashcans, performing biohazard clean-up, etc.  

  • Notifies management of supplies needed or equipment requiring maintenance. 

  • Follows the required procedures for handling, cleaning, disposing, or moving of objects and materials. 

  • Follows the required procedures for the cleanup of blood, infectious materials, or body fluids containing blood in accordance with the OSHA Blood-borne Pathogen Standard and exposure control plan.

  • Guarantees all chemicals in assigned areas have proper labels according to the Safety Data Sheets (SDSs) and ensures all cleaning materials/equipments are utilized per the manufacturer’s instructions.

  • Must be able to verbally communicate in English.

  • Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards; anticipate and address guests' service needs; assist individuals with disabilities; thank guests with genuine appreciation.

  • Perform other job duties as requested.

  • Consistent and regular attendance is an essential function of this job.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.

  • Minimum of (1) year of related experience required and six (6) months of experience within a hotel/gaming property is preferred.

  • Must be able to obtain appropriate licensing, work permits, and other work authorization cards based on the job they perform.

  • Must be available to work all shifts to include nights, weekends, and holidays.

Physical Demands:

  • Work is performed throughout the property, indoors and outdoors.

  • Must be tolerant to varying conditions of noise level, temperature, illumination, and air quality.

  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

  • Constant contact with executives, department management, team members, and guests.

  • Prolonged sitting or standing and mobility.

  • Balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, talking, hearing, repetitive motions, lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects and/or move up to 50 pounds occasionally.

  • Eye/hand coordination.

  • Use of standard office equipment.

  • Ability to distinguish letters, numbers, and symbols.
