As a Policy Analyst, you will coordinate multiple initiatives associated with developing and promoting policies that protect the integrity of the USCIS' Systematic Alien Verification for Entitlements (SAVE) program. .

Major Duties:

  • Organizational Location: This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, within Immigration Records and Identity Services and are assigned based on the need of the agency.
  • Coordinates initiatives and programs associated with the development and implementation of policies pertaining to the USCIS Systematic Alien Verification for Entitlements (SAVE) programs.
  • Lead teams or projects to develop and implement complex eligibility policies on a national scale.
  • Collaborates with senior agency officials to ensure system and guidance comports with immigration, privacy, and other applicable laws, regulations, policies.
  • Coordinates with both internal and external agency working groups on a range of issues to provide recommendations to achieve division policy objectives.
  • Coordinates research and balanced assessments on immigration policies, statutes, directives, and regulations to support the development of policy guidance.
  • Develops and delivers oral and written briefings, talking points, and other publications for supervisors and senior leadership to address complex issues that may impact senior level leadership decisions.

Qualifications: The qualifications for this position must be met by 11:59 PM (Eastern Time) on 12/24/2025. Current Federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the lower grade or equivalent grade band in the Federal service. The Time-in-Grade requirement must be met by 11:59 PM (Eastern Time) on 12/24/2025. GS-14: You qualify at the GS-14 level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience, which is equivalent to at least the GS-13 level in the federal government, that equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. You must have experience performing the following duties: Interpreting and applying the Immigration and Naturalization Act (INA), regulations, and policies relating to national immigration issues; Assessing and evaluating various immigration policy proposals and initiatives related to employment-based, humanitarian, adjustment of status, and/or citizenship programs; Interpreting and providing guidance on various immigration policy matters related to employment-based, humanitarian, adjustment of status, and/or citizenship programs; Acting as an organizational representative with other government officials or organizations to explain policy positions and elicit feedback and input; Leading a team or project to develop and implement complex immigration policies on a national scale.
