The Platform Owner is accountable for the end-to-end health, reliability, and lifecycle readiness of the firm’s enterprise workflow and integration platforms, including Boomi and Camunda, through clearly defined operating models, ownership structures, and decision rights. This role serves as the Platform Owner, executing governance as an enablement model by establishing clear ownership, decision rights, and standards that empower Platform Managers and delivery teams to move quickly within defined guardrails.
The Platform Owner owns platform standards, guardrails, and operational controls that are enforced through automation wherever possible. The role ensures platforms remain stable, auditable, secure, and compliant as adoption scales across the firm. Decisions are made just in time, with escalation by exception, so platform governance accelerates delivery rather than blocking it.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
1. Platform Ownership, Governance Execution, and Decision Rights
The Platform Owner owns the enterprise platform strategy, standards, guardrails, and roadmap for Boomi and Camunda. This includes serving as the final decision authority for platform level decisions, resolving escalated technical exceptions from Platform Leads, and escalating material risks by exception to ensure delivery velocity is maintained while protecting platform integrity. Decisions are durable, consistently applied across platforms and enforced through standards, reference architectures, and automation rather than manual review or approval processes.
2. Operate the Platform Foundation
The Platform Owner is accountable for operational readiness across all environments, including access models, monitoring standards, incident response frameworks, support escalation paths, and runbook ownership executed by Platform Leads. This includes ensuring platforms are reliable, supportable, and audit ready, with clear ownership, defined escalation paths, and predictable operational processes that scale as adoption grows.
3. Automated Guardrails and Standards Enforcement
The Platform Owner defines and enforces platform standards and policies through automation wherever possible, embedding security, compliance, and quality into CI CD pipelines and environment controls. Guardrails are designed to reduce delivery friction, minimize rework, and enable teams to move quickly within clearly defined boundaries.
4. Lifecycle Management and Platform Evolution
The Platform Owner owns platform lifecycle management including onboarding, version management, upgrades, deprecation, and end of life planning. This includes partnering with architecture, security, vendors, and Digital Solutions to manage technical debt, evaluate new capabilities, and ensure platform evolution aligns with enterprise standards, cross platform consistency, and enterprise wide business priorities.
5. Leadership and Other Duties as Assigned
The Platform Owner leads and develops platform leads and shared platform engineering or administration resources by setting expectations, reinforcing decision rights, and ensuring succession, resiliency, and role clarity as platforms scale.
Performs other related duties as assigned to support enterprise platform objectives and the maturation of the enterprise platform operating model.
