The Plan Sponsor Reporting Analyst, reporting into the Manager of Reporting Analytics, will have the chance to grow into a valuable team member within our Group Retirement Services portfolio. You'll be guided and supported as you develop your skills and gain insights into our operations. The successful candidate will assist key stakeholders through development and implementation of baseline reporting & ad-hoc requests to provide insights to our clients.

What will you do?

  • Develop and maintain complex Excel-based reports using intermediate to advanced functions

  • Adept at data discovery to identify and investigate data anomalies and generate insights

  • Liaise directly with our key stakeholders to understand business needs and provide suitable analytical solutions.

  • Design and create visualization that are effective at translating data into effective storytelling for clients

  • Identify continuous improvement solutions to automate, consolidate, or discontinue processes, with a focus on business value & efficiency.

  • Build robust documentation practices across all analytical products.

  • Comply fully with all privacy, confidentiality, do not contact, SLF Code of Business Conduct, data security, SLF End User Computing and other requirements related to customer data

What will you need to succeed?  

  • 1+ years’ experience in a Data Analyst or Performance Analyst role

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel and VBA

  • 1+ years’ experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI)

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Familiarity with SQL or Python

  • Undergraduate degree is preferred or equivalent work experience in a related field may be considered in lieu of a degree

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain the required level of government security clearance

  • As this position is posted in several locations, we specify that bilingualism (French, English, both oral and written) is required for Quebec only for the frequent interactions with English and French-speaking colleagues or internal partners across Canada or worldwide

  • Experience in life insurance/wealth management, or other financial services industry (e.g., retail banking, credit card, property, and casualty insurance) is an asset

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance. Certain sales focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.
