Prudential (UK) in partnership with the HCL group plans to set-up a standalone Indian health insurance company to address the growing healthcare needs of the Indian consumer.

 

This joint venture will combine Prudential's global expertise in insurance and financial services with HCL Group’s experience in technology and healthcare solutions.

Job Title: Lead - Site IT and Network Ops

Location: Mumbai

Work Type: Work-from-Office role only, no remote or WFH

Overall, Role Purpose

This role drive modernization of the workplace environment to increase productivity & efficiency and support in the digital transformation journey. The individual will be responsible for all Site IT and End-User IT assets (hardware, software and network) related to Prudential’s office-sites in Bangalore and Mumbai. She/He should have at least of 10+ years of relevant experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Site IT and End User Support: Plan the layout, design of Site IT and End User IT assets, across all India sites (Bangalore and Mumbai), managing vendors and collaborating with Group colleagues, and as per group standards and policies. Define India specific service management and assets management SOPs, policies & procedures, SLA’s using the Group standards as the baseline. Own the transition of Site IT & End-User IT assets from one site-location to another.

  • Budgeting and Resource Planning: Manage the department's budget and resources effectively, including equipment purchases, software licenses, and maintenance contracts. Identify cost-saving opportunities and allocate resources efficiently to maximize ROI. Using the small FTE team, and the larger vendor teams, deliver Site IT & End-User IT assets Ops services as per defined SLAs.

  • Vendor Management: Evaluate and select third-party vendors, contractors, and service providers for network and IT-related projects and services. Negotiate contracts, oversee vendor relationships, and ensure deliverables meet quality standards and timelines.

  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations, system updates, and troubleshooting procedures. Generate regular reports on network performance, security incidents, and support activities for management review. Own the annual and periodic audits, reporting and compliance requirements related to Site IT & End-User IT assets.

  • Training and Development: Provide training and professional development opportunities for team members to enhance their technical skills and knowledge. Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends to foster continuous learning and innovation within the department.

  • Collaboration and Communication: Foster collaboration with other departments, such as software development, infrastructure, and security teams, to ensure alignment of network and IT initiatives with broader organizational goals. Communicate effectively with stakeholders to address concerns, provide updates, and solicit feedback.

  • Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity: Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans and procedures to minimize downtime and data loss in the event of network outages, natural disasters, or other emergencies using the Group standards as the baseline. Test and refine recovery strategies regularly to ensure readiness for unforeseen events.

  • Overall Support: Contribute to, and support, site’s non-IT SOPs, policies, procedures and SLAs, from an IT perspective:

  • Onboarding and Deboarding of employees

  • AV and VC capabilities

  • HR policies

  • Employee engagement activities

  • Group colleagues’ site visits to site

  • External stakeholders’ visits to site

Job Requirements - Knowledge and Skills

  • Possess a deep understanding of networking technologies, infrastructure, and security protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, and cybersecurity best practices.

  • Demonstrate effective leadership skills to oversee and motivate a team of IT professionals, with proficiency in delegation, communication, conflict resolution, and team building.

  • Exhibit analytical prowess in troubleshooting complex network issues, identifying root causes, and implementing timely solutions. Show sound judgment and decision-making capabilities, particularly in high-pressure situations.

  • Communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, while fostering collaboration across teams. Possess excellent documentation skills for network diagrams, procedures, and reports.

  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends, demonstrating adaptability and a willingness to learn new skills. Flexibility in adapting to evolving business requirements and technologies is key.

  • Maintain a customer-focused approach, ensuring high-quality IT support and service delivery. Skilled in vendor management, including vendor selection, contract negotiation, and relationship management, to meet organizational needs effectively.
