Job Summary: This position is part of the Air Force Elements, U.S. Transportation Command.

Major Duties:

  • As a OPERATIONS SUPPORT MANAGER at the GS-0301-15 some of your typical work assignments may include: Supervises and provides operational, executive level day-to-day execution command and control (C2) of the USTRANSCOM operations Plans, organizes, and oversees the activities of the Global Operations Center and Defense Transportation System Oversees the day-to-day planning and execution of the strategic transportation enterprise. Serves as the Command's expert for USTRANSCOM daily deployment related operations, deployment orders development, production, dissemination, and tracking. Directly influences allocation of Mobility Forces to competing Combatant Command transportation requirements for both rotational and emergent requests for forces.

Qualifications: You may qualify at the GS-15, if you fulfill the following qualifications: Establishes revises, or reviews policies, procedures, and mission objectives to eliminate transportation problems or barriers to mission accomplishment, promote team building, implement quality improvements, or in response to concerns with regulatory compliance and/or customer requirements. Directs, manages, monitors and reports execution status of transportation assets and personnel and reports their status to leadership. Directs allocation based on analyses that impact senior leadership decisions on prioritized use of mobility assets and corresponding decisions concerning health-of-the-force issues. A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
