New Product Development Manufacturing Engineer I

Regal Rexnord Corporation, a leading supplier in the Aerospace industry, is seeking a New Product Development (NPD) Manufacturing Engineer I focused on design, manufacturing, and qualification of new mechanical seals, bearings, and other Regal Rexnord Aerospace products. This is a fully onsite role in Downers Grove, IL.

Responsibilities:

  • Create product validation packages for new parts and assemblies, which includes process drawings, routings, set-up and assembly instructions, tooling, fixtures, gauges.

  • Assisting manufacturing and assembly associates with machining, programming, grinding, inspection, assembly, and special processes (heat treatment, plating and welding) for new products.

  • Assist with Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) and Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) tools.

  • Providing technical support to Customers, Suppliers, Marketing, Sales, Manufacturing, and Quality departments.

  • With limited aid from more senior engineers, support the design, development and application of mechanical seals, bearings, tooling, and other Regal Rexnord Aerospace products.

  • Participate in RBS events (the company operating management system based on the Toyota Production System and the Strategy Deployment Process - advanced Hoshin Planning methodology).

  • Identify and drive continuous improvement opportunities through use of lean tools and analytical problem-solving methods such as DMAIC.

Required Education / Experience / Skills:

  • 0-5 years of experience in the field or in a related area.

  • Requires Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.

  • Experience with high precision metal manufacturing environment (turning, milling, grinding, heat treat, assembly) a plus.

  • Ability to create and interpret drawings and specifications.

  • Working knowledge of SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and/or CATIA.

  • Working knowledge of tolerance stack-ups and GD&T.

  • Knowledge of metals and composites; materials background is a plus.

  • Exposure to AS9100, ISO9001, FAA FAR Regulations, SAE and/or ASTM is a plus.

  • CAD/CAM programming/troubleshooting experience for CNC equipment is a plus.

  • Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt a plus.

  • Experience with DOE is a plus.

  • Capable of working within a team structure.

  • Detail oriented and self-motivated.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.

  • High level of interpersonal skills.

  • Proficient in MS Word, PowerPoint, and advanced MS Excel skills.

Compensation Details:  
$65,000 - $85,000
The salary range provided is intended to display the value of the company's base pay compensation for all statewide locations across the United States. Salary is dependent on a multitude of factors, including but not limited to the physical worksite location, candidate's skill set, level of experience, education and internal peer compensation comparisons.
