Network Engineer (CCNA / CCNP)
Salary: £55,400 - £70,000 (neg depending on experience)
Location: Staines (TW18 3DZ) or London (EC2R 7HJ)
Fixed Term Contract: until 31/12/2026 – extensions are likely
Scheduled weekly hours: 37.5 hours

How you’ll help us make health happen:
In this role, you will:
Provide technical leadership across our Connectivity services, supporting a wide portfolio of network technologies.
Deliver and maintain key ITIL processes (Configuration, Release, Availability, Capacity, Financial and Service Continuity Management).
Take technical ownership of risk relating to network services and ensure strong governance.
Lead and contribute to the improvement and evolution of Connectivity services, driving operational excellence.
Support and deliver Business Continuity solutions, ensuring robust recovery and proactive problem avoidance.
Work closely with IT leadership to ensure alignment between networking changes and business needs.
Contribute to the design, testing and deployment of new Connectivity services that meet Bupa’s enterprise standards.
Build strong relationships with vendors to identify opportunities to innovate and introduce modern technologies.
Provide SME support in WAN, LAN, wireless, cloud connectivity, network security, VOIP and other critical network capabilities.
Deliver complex technical solutions, both tactical and strategic, working with architects, SMEs and service providers.
Support Bupa’s cloud‑first strategy, contributing to transformation from on‑prem to cloud architectures (Azure preferred).
Produce documentation, testing plans, and create technical standards aligned with Bupa policies.
Key Skills / Qualifications needed for this role:
We’re looking for someone who’s technically strong, proactive and collaborative — someone who enjoys solving complex problems and making things work better.
Essential skills & experience:
Proven experience delivering support across complex network and security infrastructures
CCNA/CCNP credentials are highly beneficial
Strong SME‑level expertise in at least two of:
- Routing & Switching
- Wireless (Enterprise / Meraki)
- Data Centre networking
- Firewalls (Palo Alto, Cisco Firepower, Checkpoint)
- Zscaler
- SDWAN
- Azure Cloud networking
Experience delivering network designs, implementations and technical leadership across large-scale environments.
Strong understanding of security, operations, service management, and multi‑sourcing delivery models.
Desirable experience:
On‑prem to cloud migration experience.
NAC tools (Forescout), segmentation solutions, monitoring toolsets (SolarWinds).
VOIP / collaboration solutions.
Technical leadership across complex projects and vendor environments.
