Depending on project needs and student background, responsibilities may include assisting with data organization and analysis, literature review, research workflow support, meeting coordination, documentation, communications, progress tracking, and other project-related tasks that help advance NCEMS programs and initiatives. This provides valuable exposure to both the research and operational sides of managing large interdisciplinary scientific initiatives.

Preferred qualifications may include:

  • Familiarity with Python, R, Excel, or other organizational and computational tools
  • Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a professional research setting
  • Interest in open science, reproducible research, and scientific teamwork

Students from programs such as Information Sciences and Technology, Biology, Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Chemistry, Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, and related fields are encouraged to apply.

To apply, please submit a resume and a brief statement of interest describing your background, relevant skills, and interest in supporting NCEMS. Applications will be reviewed on an ongoing basis based on program needs.
