We are seeking an Outbound Logistics Planner to join our Logistics team and support the planning, execution, and continuous improvement of outbound shipment operations. This role is ideal for someone who brings strong analytical thinking, operational discipline, and a collaborative mindset to complex logistics environments. The ideal candidate demonstrates a high sense of urgency, a customer-focused approach, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining quality, safety, and service standards. Experience in outbound logistics planning, KPI management, SAP transactions, and cross-functional coordination will enable success in this role.
What You'll Do for Us
- Develop, manage, and execute the daily shipment plan, including transport assignment and definition of shipment conditions aligned with customer service requirements and operational constraints (30%).
- Coordinate and manage outbound shipments end-to-end, including tracking shipped units, monitoring temperature conditions, and managing logistics-related complaints to ensure product integrity and customer satisfaction (20%).
- Measure, analyze, and monitor outbound logistics KPIs on a daily basis; identify trends, prepare reports, and present performance insights and improvement opportunities at least twice per month (15%).
- Register and process all authorized customer returns accurately and timely in SAP, ensuring compliance with internal controls, documentation standards, and traceability requirements (10%).
- Maintain effective, professional, and proactive communication with internal stakeholders—including management, customer service, warehouse teams, quality analysts, and planners—as well as with outbound logistics suppliers (10%).
- Take swift and effective action in response to urgent or unplanned logistics needs, particularly those impacting CPS Mexico operations, ensuring continuity of service and alignment with safety and quality standards (5%).
- Support Operational Excellence initiatives by identifying process optimization opportunities, participating in improvement projects, and applying structured problem-solving methodologies within the logistics area (5%).
- Create, update, and maintain logistics-related documentation within the management system to ensure processes are standardized, current, and audit-ready (3%).
- Actively participate in health, safety, environmental, and sustainability initiatives, modeling safe behaviors and complying with all applicable Company policies and legal requirements (2%).
Requirements & Qualifications
To succeed in this role, the following qualifications and capabilities are required:
- A minimum of 2–3 years of experience in planning, supply management, outbound logistics, or a related logistics or supply chain function, preferably within a manufacturing or fast-moving consumer goods environment.
- Demonstrated experience in outbound shipment planning, transportation coordination, and logistics execution, including familiarity with shipment conditions, service levels, and customer requirements.
- Working knowledge of supply chain and outbound logistics processes, including hazmat handling principles and compliance with local transportation and logistics regulations.
- Experience using SAP or similar ERP systems to manage logistics transactions, customer returns, and shipment documentation with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to review, interpret, and act on logistics KPIs, performance metrics, and trend data to support operational decision-making and continuous improvement.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external logistics providers, building productive working relationships based on trust, clarity, and accountability.
- High sense of urgency and adaptability, with the ability to respond quickly to operational disruptions, urgent shipment needs, or changing priorities while maintaining composure and professionalism.
- Solid communication skills, both written and verbal, enabling clear escalation of issues, effective coordination with stakeholders, and concise reporting to management.
- Commitment to Operational Excellence, customer service, quality, and safety, with an understanding of how logistics performance directly impacts customer experience and business results.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent university education in Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or a related field is desirable.
- Basic to intermediate proficiency in English, both written and spoken, sufficient for documentation, reporting, and collaboration in a multinational environment.
