Job Summary
ConocoPhillips holds approximately 372,000 total net acres in the Midland Basin, which includes approximately 265,000 unconventional net acres located in the heart of west Texas. The company operates over 2,800 producing wells across Midland, Upton, Andrews, Martin, and Glasscock counties.Position Overview
At ConocoPhillips, our Lease Operators—known internally as Multi-Skill Operators (MSOs)—play a vital role in ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable oil and gas production across our assets. This field-based position offers the opportunity to work independently in dynamic outdoor environments, using your mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills to make a real impact.

As a frontline contributor to our operational excellence and safety culture, you’ll be empowered to make decisions, troubleshoot equipment, and ensure production targets are met—all while driving innovation and continuous improvement in the field.
Your responsibilities may include:
Perform daily field operations across assigned wells and facilities in the Crane area, monitoring equipment and production performance to ensure safe, reliable flow and timely response to operational needs
Inspect tanks, meters, separators, compressors, and pipelines to identify and prevent leaks or operational issues
Gauge tanks to measure crude oil and water levels for safe and efficient transfers
Operate and troubleshoot compressors, gas lift wells, sand traps, and flowback equipment
Maintain chemical injection rates and execute well start-up/shut-in procedures
Enter and validate production data in digital systems to support accurate reporting and decision-making
Participate in facility walk-throughs, safety reviews, and regulatory documentation
Update piping and instrument diagrams (P&IDs) and site security documentation
Respond to alarms and fulfill on-call duties to minimize downtime and resolve field issues
Apply all safety, environmental, and company policies to protect personnel, assets, and the environment

Basic Requirements:
Legally authorized to work in the United States
Current/valid driver's license
1 or more years of experience in mechanical maintenance, equipment operation, or inspection
Willing and able (with or without reasonable accommodation) to perform/align with following:
Work in temperature extremes or adverse weather conditions
Work in several different geographic locations throughout a single workday
Work both in and out of a company-owned vehicle
Wear appropriate special safety equipment
Climb heights up to 24 feet to gauge tanks; Walk, bend, stoop, lift, push and pull up to 50 lbs
Use hand tools to make minor repairs; Work weekends and be on call
Preferred Requirements:
1 or more years’ experience in oil and gas production or health, safety, and environmental (HSE) roles
Associate’s degree or trade certification in Production Technology or a related field
Computer and data entry skills
Responsive to visual and auditory signals, alarms, and instructions
Physical Demands & Work Environment:
This is a Safety Sensitive position
Outdoor work in remote locations with exposure to varying weather conditions, including temperature extremes
Frequent walking, bending, stooping, climbing (up to 24 feet), and lifting/pushing/pulling up to 50 lbs
Regular use of hand tools for minor repairs and equipment adjustments
Frequent driving between multiple sites in a company-provided vehicle
May involve working alone for extended periods
Requires use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and strict adherence to safety protocols
May require weekend work and participation in an on-call rotation
This position is assigned to field operations near Crane, Texas – Candidates should carefully consider the daily travel and remote nature of this role prior to applying
