Multimedia SpecialistGENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Collaborates with the Airports Authority staff to define project goals, target audiences, creative direction, and timelines.
Leads creative development and visual concepting for video and multimedia projects, with a strong emphasis on story structure, pacing, and design-forward execution.
Guides pre-production planning, including development of creative treatments, shot lists, scripts, and production workflows.
Develops and manages production schedules for filming, editing, review cycles, and final delivery.
Captures original footage on location, including staging environments, directing subjects, and composing visually intentional shots.
Produces and edits cinematic brand videos, social and short-form content, interviews, animations, and instructional media.
Executes high-quality post-production, including editing, color correction, sound design, and motion graphics.
Advises on media rights, releases, and content usage permissions.
Maintains and curates a searchable archive of digital media assets.
Travels to Airports Authority locations, including Dulles International Airport (IAD), Reagan National Airport (DCA), and Dulles Toll Road (DTR) to capture content as needed.
Collaborates with the Digital Strategy Team to help develop, track, and analyze online video analytics and effectiveness metrics.
May provide general logistical support for the Airports Authority special events and may be required to work outside of normal business hours, as needed.
Performs other functions, as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Three years of professional video and audio production, editing, color grading, post-production, and design experience in a corporate or agency setting (with corporate clients). An equivalent combination of education may be considered.
Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to apply visual storytelling, editing techniques, and design principles in professional media productions.
Experience in developing documentary-style and corporate interview content, including pre-production (scripting, interview question development), production, and post-production.
Experience producing both long-form and short-form video content, social content production, informational, instructional, or other corporate multimedia content.
Demonstrated experience independently operating professional camera and lens systems, including but not limited to Sony (A7, FX3, FX6, Venice), Blackmagic, Nikon/RED systems, action cameras, and social media cameras (DJI, GoPro), related production equipment.
Demonstrated experience independently setting up and operating professional lighting systems, audio capture equipment, and grip equipment, for on-set and on-location filming.
Advanced working knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Audition, DaVinci Resolve, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and related tools in a MacOS system.
Demonstrated experience developing, designing, implementing, and maintaining studio-grade archival solutions for video and media content.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Advanced skill in Adobe After Effects and other animation tools (e.g., Blender).
A bachelor’s degree in Film & Video Production, Motion Design / Digital Media, Visual Communication / Graphic Design, Marketing or Communications.
EDUCATION
A bachelor’s degree in any field.
CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES REQUIRED
A state driver’s license in good standing.
NECESSARY SPECIAL FACTORS
May be required to work evenings or weekends to meet deadlines or to film special events.
May be subject to adverse weather conditions when filming outside and at other on-scene locations.
Subject to job pressures from tight deadlines, media demands for information in emergencies, and other situational factors.
Work is typically reviewed in progress and upon completion by the immediate supervisor and others throughout production for quantity, quality, timeliness, teamwork, customer service, and other factors.
