Job Description

We’re looking for a hands‑on Mobile Engineering Lead to shape and ship the Elavon Connect Mobile experience across Europe. You’ll lead iOS/Android squads, set architecture direction, and integrate with payments and customer service platforms—delivering secure, high‑performing features for merchants and partners. If you’re passionate about building reliable mobile apps that solve real customer problems, we’d love to talk.

Responsibilities

  • Lead delivery across iOS and Android: own backlog refinement, sprint planning, and release readiness; collaborate closely with Product and design.

  • Define and evolve architecture & guardrails: modularization, dependency injection, offline resilience, network/data layers, observability, and performance.

  • Raise the bar on quality: drive code reviews, pairing, test strategy (unit/UI/instrumentation), automation in CI/CD, and release health metrics.

  • Integrate with core platforms: partner with web/backend teams to connect mobile to APIs, identity/auth (OAuth2/OpenID), analytics/telemetry, feature flags/config.

  • Reliability & compliance: enforce secure coding practices and EU privacy requirements; align delivery with PCI/risk controls.

  • Production excellence: monitor crash rates and ANR, startup time, frame rendering, network usage; lead incident prevention and rapid recovery.

  • Technical decision‑making: clarify trade‑offs, unblock teams, articulate rationale to Product, Risk, and Operations stakeholders.

  • Mentor engineers: coach on design, testing, performance and platform best practices; foster an inclusive, high‑performance engineering culture.

  • Planning & road‑mapping: contribute engineering estimates, identify dependencies, and shape quarterly plans with Product.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years native mobile development with significant contributions to production iOS and/or Android apps; prior technical leadership experience.

  • Architecture depth: designing scalable mobile systems (modular architectures, reactive patterns, secure storage, offline capabilities).

  • Tooling & pipelines: CI/CD for mobile (e.g., Fastlane/GitHub Actions/Bitrise), automated testing frameworks, code quality and release processes (App Store/Play).

  • API & integration: REST/GraphQL, authentication/authorization (OAuth2/OpenID), analytics/telemetry, feature flags/config management.

  • Quality & reliability mindset: data‑driven improvements using crash analytics and performance profiling.

  • Security & compliance awareness: PCI considerations for payments, privacy‑by‑design in the EU context.

  • Collaboration & communication: ability to partner with Product, Design, Risk, and Operations; crisp articulation of technical decisions.

Nice‑to‑have

  • Payments/fintech or B2B mobile experience.

  • Accessibility and multi‑language UI support.

  • Exposure to cloud/backend environments supporting mobile (API gateways, event streaming, observability stacks).

  • Experience modernizing legacy integrations while maintaining EU operational requirements.
