Job Summary: *This is a Title 5 National Guard Employee position description* This National Guard position is for a MILITARY & FAMILY READINESS SPECIALIST, Position Description Number T5701200. The purpose of the position is to provide support in the administration of Military & Family Readiness Program (SFRP) services for the Army National Guard within the State Family Program.

Major Duties:

  • As aMILITARY & FAMILY READINESS SPECIALIST ,GS -0301-9, you will: order to plan, coordinate, implement, and develop reporting data. Support the family assistance, family outreach, community outreach, crisis response, family readiness and financial readiness functions Project budget and fiscal requirements necessary for execution, documenting, and fiscal reporting in support of program initiatives. Collect and organizes volunteer, family, and other related data, submit data and information through the State Family Program Director or Supervisory Family Support Services Specialist. Manages and operates family assistance center and provide assistance to commands within geographical area of responsibility in support of the SFRP. Provide training and technical support to Commanders and Family Readiness Liaisons to support their Unit Family Readiness program and Soldier & Family Readiness Groups (SFRGS).

Qualifications: GENERAL EXPERIENCE: General Experience: For positions for which individual occupational requirements do not specify otherwise, general experience is 3 years of progressively responsible experience, 1 year of which was equivalent to at least GS-4, that demonstrates the ability to:1. Analyze problems to identify significant factors, gather pertinent data, and recognize solutions.2. Plan and organize work3. Communicate effectively orally and in writing. Such experience may have been gained in administrative, professional, technical, investigative, or other responsible work. Experience in substantive and relevant secretarial, clerical, or other responsible work may be qualifying as long as it provided evidence of the knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA's) necessary to perform the duties of the position to be filled. Experience of a general clerical nature (typing, filing, routine procedural processing, maintaining records, or other nonspecialized tasks) is not creditable. Trades or cra??s experience appropriate to the position to be filled may be creditable for some positions. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Specialized Experience: For the GS-09 level you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience may have been earned performing any of the following tasks (this is not an inclusive list) Develop reporting data Conduct research to monitor human delivery systems Assist or conduct regular assessments with customers Possess and display the following soft skills: conflict resolution , communication skills, effective time management, career planning, and or effective time management Manage and assign tasks to subordinate staff Develop performance standards Applicants may also qualify for this position based on the following education criteria: Masters or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related Combining Education and Experience: Combinations of successfully completed post-high school education and experience may be used to meet total qualification requirements for the grade levels specified in the table, and may be computed by first determining the applicant's total qualifying experience as a percentage of the experience required for the grade level; then determining the applicant's education as a percentage of the education required for the grade level; and then adding the two percentages. The total percentages must equal at least 100 percent to qualify an applicant for that grade level.
